Description
The Leidos Civil group is looking for a Software Engineer to support the NISC IV contract in Washington DC. This candidate will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing computer software web applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. The ideal candidate will plan, prepare, and complete the design of assigned complex components and functional systems, interact with internal and external customers, and assist the customer in defining system requirements and in the generation of specifications for products or sub-systems.
This is a hybrid position, with 2 – 3 days working on-site in our Washington, DC office and 2 days working remotely.
Primary Responsibilities
- Working with diverse group of web application software engineers to develop enterprise level web applications.
- Perform highly complex analysis, design, development, and test, performing gap analysis and data analysis.
- Interface with project managers, development teams and application owners to solicit and document development requirements.
- Analyze and refine user and business requirements.
- Develop effective prototypes using industry standard software, creating functional wireframes and operational mockup screens.
- Analyze project requirements and develop detailed design objectives, architectural documents, and system design documents.
- Assist in design, development, testing, and maintenance of web applications.
- Interpret business requirements into logical/physical Data Models and manage databases.
- Responsible for data migration for legacy applications to new system and upgrading Oracle database version and ColdFusion as needed.
- Loading data from development database to testing databases ensuring compliance with constraints and existing keys.
- Writing stored procedures, indexes, Database Encryption and CDC.
- Database performance tuning.
- Knowledge of software engineering processes and object-oriented design practices.
- Experience working in Agile project environment.
- Ability to conduct product presentations to individuals and groups.
- Proficient with analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
- Assist with the development of software and system technical documentation.
- Must have a strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices.
- Must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasks and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be an independent thinker, capable of performing high-quality work, both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong listening skills with an open-minded and team-oriented approach to design and development.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to follow and maintain coding standards to produce clean, readable, and well-documented code.
- Utilizing Integration / Deployment Tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Ansible Tower.
- Excellent and efficient communication in the English language.
- Proven ability to estimate time and meet deadlines with little to no supervision.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9 years of professional experience, or a Master’s Degree combined with 7 years of professional experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in developing ColdFusion applications, and recently developed in the last 2 years.
- 8+ years of ColdFusion, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, JSON, API, AJAX
- Strong Knowledge of databases and structures.
- 7+ years of Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Database Objects Tables, Indexes, Constraints, Sequences, Triggers, Views, Functions, Stored Procedures, Packages.
- 7+ years of Experience with Web 2.0 technologies like HTML5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, XML Web Services, REST API’s, JSON etc. And best Practices.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Experience developing on Windows, and/or Linux operating systems.
- 5+ years of Experience with TOAD, SQL Developer.
- 7+ years of Experience with MS Office Suite.
- 3+ years of Experience with Version Source control such as Git and Utilizing Integration / Deployment Tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Ansible Tower
Experience with the following:
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat Forms a plus.
- Familiarity with ColdFusion Report Builder
- Knowledge of Accessibility / Section 508 compliance
- Experience with government security requirements and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior FAA experience highly desired.
- Experience with SQL Server
- Experience in .NET or Object-oriented programming
- Experience API development
- Adobe CQ5 (web content management system)

Pay Range: Pay Range $97,500.00 – $176,250.00
