The Boeing International Space Station – Vehicle Control Software (VCS) group is currently looking for a Software Manager to join their team in Houston, Texas . This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) business organization Space Intelligence and Weapon Systems. The selected candidate will have demonstrated experience in leading software development activities; and must be familiar with software development, software and data integration, and software delivery.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 25 software engineers working cohesively to achieve program goals.
- Coordinate with other development teams both here in Houston and across the ISS organization.
- Advocate and participate in lesson learned and improvement processes.
- Ensure enforcement of team standards and accountability of process execution.
- Apply work ethics focused on optimizing productivity and quality of the products and services delivered in support of the mission
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Software or Computer Science engineer with 10+ years of demonstrated experience in software integration activities
- Experience in a Software Engineering leadership role.
- 10+ years of experience in data integration and software delivery.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 10+ years of experience with human-rated software for space domains.
- 10+ years of experience working with software product customers and end users.
- 10+ years of experience in software development and configuration management (CM) tools.
Typical Education/Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience. ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for Experienced: $141,950.00 – $192,050.00
