Soiled Laundry Handler

Job Description

Receives, sorts, stores, transports and issues soiled and new Hospital linens and uniforms.

Job Responsibility

  • Places sorted laundry in appropriate carts.
  • Performs a variety of duties such as distributing carts with fresh linens to floors, pushing filled carts to platform for transmittal to laundry, and maintaining work area in a clean and orderly condition by sweeping floors, arranging carts, etc.
  • Receives soiled uniforms and dispenses clean one to appropriate employees over counter in Linen Department.
  • Stocks new linen inventory in department storeroom and stamps new linen, in accordance with established procedures.
  • Confers with other departments such as Nursing, to coordinate distribution of uniforms, as directed.
  • Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions is essential.

The salary range for this position is $21.07-$22.27/hour
