The Role
As a Sourcing Engineer, you will be playing a critical role in Tesla’s Infrastructure team building the world’s most advanced factories. You will work in a cross functional role coordinating construction deliverables with various stakeholders for the buildout of Tesla’s Energy and R&D facilities. The role encompasses execution of buyouts while leading communications with vendors and partnering closely with internal stakeholders. A successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic workplace.
Responsibilities
- Issue RFQs and RFPs for sourcing construction materials and services
- Perform bid analysis and present recommendations for bid award to end requester
- Identify new vendors keeping the vendor database diversified strengthening supply chain
- Create and improve material fulfillment processes for supporting projects/teams
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for timely deliveries
- Develop an understanding of procured commodities and provide cost-effective options
- Manage procurement and budgetary tracking of all construction materials for team
- Frequently conduct spend analysis to identify potential cost saving opportunities
- Consistently provide a high level of customer service to Tesla staff, vendors, and business partners
- Special duties and projects, as assigned or necessary including coverage of other coordinators
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields)
- Ability to prioritize tasks with strong time management skills
- Strong sense of urgency and comfort working in fast-paced, oft-changing environment
- Ability to work with minimal guidance
- Excellent verbal AND written communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Bluebeam, Aconex, PlanGrid, or MS Project preferred
- Experience making purchasing and budgetary decisions for a firm.

$72,000 – $264,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
