The Specialist, Distribution Planning and Logistics is responsible to support Distribution and Logistics activity or projects within Fujifilm. He/she must respond to business needs and ensure that Quality and regulatory requirements (GDP/GMP/Cold Chain/Trade Compliance) are met. The Specialist of Distribution Planning & Logistics will be responsible for arranging and monitoring shipments / inventory control, understanding and providing the required documentation, knowing, and following the import/export regulations, and ensuring all transactions are accurately and completely processed in the ERP systems.

Work Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Reports to: Senior Manager, Logistics

Travel: Travel possible (up to 5%).

Job Description:

  • Perform activities to support distribution operations and product shipping for clinical and commercial finished goods (final packaged product, FDP) to global regions and ensures compliance to Good Manufacturing and Good Distribution Practices for multiple clients.
  • Perform accurate ERP transactions such as creation of sales order and production orders.
  • Manage the day-to-day assignments of warehouse job tasks and monitor completion of required activities for clinical & commercial distribution.
  • Monitor Kanban inventory to ensure optimum replenishment of all distribution related materials.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies to Warehouse Operations team and escalate when appropriate.
  • Coordinate and manage end to end cold chain (frozen, refrigerated, and LN2) domestic and

international shipments.

  • Coordinate Clinical shipping documentation with Customer, Warehouse, Quality and Document Control.
  • Resolve all in-transit delays with transportation providers (packaging vendors, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers) and government agencies (Customs, FDA, USDA, TSA, Fish and Wildlife) with a sense of urgency.
  • Able to lead/assist in preparing shipments (preconditioning, picking, packing) as needed.
  • Develop and strengthens Pick, Pack, and Ship finished product, materials policies, and procedures that support business needs and comply to cGMP & cGDP guidelines.
  • Ensure individual employee training is up to date.
  • Always adhere to all safety procedures and GMP’s requirements.
  • Develop and maintain metrics for Distribution Planning.
  • Develop and maintain Distribution Planning related procedure and forms.
  • Support projects as assigned.
  • Work effectively cross-functionally to continuously maintain an effective and efficient Supply Chain operations.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience (specialization in supply chain, purchasing, logistics or directly related field preferably in a biotech, medical device or life sciences setting); OR Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience; OR Associate’s Degree with 6+ years of experience; OR High School Diploma with 7+ years of experience
  • Robust experience within the biotechnology and pharma industry a strong plus.
  • Preferably have APICS Supply Chain/Purchasing certifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP tools (preferably in SAP), and business processes.
  • Great organizational and time management skills.
  • IATA and DOT Hazardous Material Certified.
  • Must be detail oriented, have a sense of urgency, and have good customer service.
  • Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and optimize deals for the company.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
