The Role at a Glance

As a Product Compliance Specialist, you will perform and deliver on routine assignments and projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of your assigned area of responsibility. You will develop and execute processes and plans to ensure compliance related to the drafting, regulatory filing, and/or implementation of insurance forms and/or products for Lincoln Financial. This will be primarily supporting our group insurance products, including but not limited to group disability income, critical illness, dental, and statutory insurance.

What you’ll be doing

Communication

  • Provides effective and open communication with internal/external stakeholders to ensure transparency and consistency of compliance actions.
  • Identifies and communicates risks to management.
  • Obtains input from management as appropriate before making internal/external statements or providing information that could impact the corporation.
  • Participates in product and filing requirement discussions with internal stakeholders.
  • May participate in various industry association meetings as a representative of compliance.
  • Escalates identified risks to management as needed.

Organizational

  • Promotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • May review and/or implement policy print on related print systems for compliance. Confers with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues relevant to securing approval and/or use of forms and/or rates, or to revise products or procedures for compliance with new laws.
  • May draft, and/or file all applicable forms and/or applications by identifying and complying with regulatory requirements within Lincoln Financial.

Compliance Analysis

  • Develops and performs compliance reviews and analysis to assess compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Develops and maintains compliance review documentation of group insurance products, including but not limited to group term life, AD&D, accident only, and hospital indemnity insurance.
  • Manages, conducts and/or participates in compliance projects for Lincoln Financial.
  • Prepares responses to regulatory inquiries for compliance.
  • Prepares responses for audit inquiries for compliance.
  • Prepares, updates and/or files applicable compliance reports, forms, and/or contracts for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • May provide ongoing compliance review of all related marketing, product, service and/or sales materials.
  • Performs analysis and communicates recommended changes as a result of new and/or revised State and Federal laws and regulations affecting compliance.
  • Researches, compiles and reviews state laws and regulations using appropriate databases, the internet and other resources as assigned.
  • Reviews work product of other team members.

What we’re looking for

  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in compliance, operations, claims, customer service, or related fields that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations. Insurance industry experience preferred.

Pay Range: $51,900 – $89,800

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
