Description:
The College of Arts and Sciences is seeking to hire an experienced Research Assistant in the Department of Geosciences. This position is in support of a grant with a focus on community-engaged environmental science research, and the development and implementation of our Community Soil Air Water (CSAW) learning ecosystem model. This position will work with research investigators and community partners to implement environmental research activities.
This role will also help manage community science activities, including monitoring and training; conduct community outreach, including holding stakeholder meetings; assist in creating community resources and grant writing. The Research Assistant will contribute to the CSAW team through ongoing training, career networking, and cohort building to develop the engagement, and leadership skills required for community-based outreach and research.
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Research Assistant are the following:
- Assist community partners with managing engagement and outreach programs.
- Train community members on community science tools and procedures.
- Assist in creating community resources such as grant writing and mapping.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders, partner organizations, and leadership team.
- Participate in ongoing professional development training.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or high school diploma or GED and four years of related research experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
