Sponsorship and Community Engagement Coordinator

The Sponsorship and Community Engagement Coordinator will manage and expand the Round Lake Area Park District sponsorship and advertising program by securing beneficial partnerships, grants, sponsorships, in-kind or cash donations, and advertisements. The Coordinator will build community engagement by leading focus groups, participating in community events such as the Farmers Market and other special events.

This is a flexible part-time IMRF position working approximately 20 hours a week. The work week may include night, weekend, and holiday hours based on District events.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Advertising, or related field; or equivalent experience in sponsorship and fundraising. Two to five years of relevant work experience in sales preferred. Prior experience with corporate sponsorship sales and/or account management a plus. Candidate will develop positive relationships with a diverse community. Candidate must have excellent writing, communication, and organization skills. Candidate will be in front of the public and needs the ability to present their self professionally when working with staff, and the community. Valid Driver’s License is required.

Essential Functions

  1. Build the District’s brand by developing positive professional working relationships with community members and surrounding corporate and retail groups.
  2. Responsible for the administration of the District’s Corporate Sponsorship Program, including planning, development, solicitation, organization, and evaluation.
  3. Identifies and develops business relationships with potential and established sponsors and advertisers.
  4. Assists the Marketing Manager in negotiating and establishing corporate sponsorship contracts keeping in mind the District’s mission statement and goals.
  5. Serves as the District liaison between sponsors and advertisers and the District once an agreement is formalized.
  6. Attend special events as directed by the Marketing Manager.
  7. Responsible for reviewing sponsorship and advertising contracts on an ongoing basis to assure that the District’s contractual obligations are met.
  8. Create and edit a Sponsorship Guide.
  9. Assists with the creation and preparation of the sponsorship budgets and reports.
  10. Assist the Director of Operations and Recreation with fundraising for the Friends of the Round Lake Area Parks Foundation.
  11. Assist with community open houses, meetings and presentations as needed.
  12. Take photos at Park District functions, programs, and special events for future use in brochures, and media.
