Reporting to the Sports Equipment and Warehouse Sr. Manager, Athletes Unlimited is looking for a Sports Equipment Coordinator to manage, coordinate, and participate in all activities related to the purchasing, storing, issuing, fitting and repairing of athletic equipment, clothing and uniforms for all sport leagues. The Sports Equipment Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining strong communication with respective ‘Directors of Sport’ and ‘Player Care Coordinators’.
In-Season Responsibilities:
- Travels to each respective season and/or coordinates with on-the-ground equipment support as assigned to perform equipment responsibilities
- Manages issuance of apparel to athletes and staff on site
- Assists with fitting athletic equipment to individual athletes
- Maintains accurate records and files regarding equipment logistics to and from market
- Coordinates with laundry staff and event management team on site to support sport operations
- Helps coordinate storage management on-site during the season
- Maintain open and detailed communication of equipment operations and logistics with respective ‘Directors of Sport’.
Off-Season Responsibilities:
- Assist on the purchase of athletic apparel and hard goods; orders equipment according to department procedures
- Updates inventory documentation of equipment upon delivery to verify/receipt and maintain accurate records
- Assist in the overall organization of equipment in the warehouse
- Assist the ‘Player Care Coordinator’ with collecting and managing sizing data and forms for athletes
- Monitors maintenance of equipment, which includes laundering, repair, and general upkeep of equipment
- Assist with the preparation of equipment for distribution in the warehouse
- Manages and monitors logistics of athlete apparel to and from market
- Assist in loading and unloading of equipment to and from market
Requirements
- Knowledge and passion for women’s sports
- Minimum two years’ experience in athletic equipment management or similar role, preferably in softball, volleyball, lacrosse, and/or basketball
- Work at the company’s Fair Lawn, New Jersey warehouse when not in-market
- Own a reliable vehicle for occasional package pick-ups and drop-offs
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (~50 lbs.)
- Willingness to travel and live/work in the market during Athletes Unlimited seasons (~30% travel) during the season
- Adherence to company-wide COVID-19 requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Committed to quality work and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Google Sheets/Excel for inventory tracking
- Comfortable with technology (e.g., G-Suite applications)
- Preferred knowledge of athletic supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
Benefits
This role is full-time, hybrid-remote when not in-season, and will be compensated between $45,000 – $50,000 annually commensurate with experience. Travel, accommodations, meals, and other specified travel expenses will be covered as part of the responsibilities of this role.
