Bar porters are essential to the smooth operation of all our restaurants or bars. Not only do they serve as the right-hand man or woman to the bartender, but bar porters can help every front-of-house member of the establishment. If you’ve ever considered a job in the service industry, a bar porter job is a great place to start!
Compensation: $13.25/hr + tips! Avg. Up to $15.00/hr
Responsibilities
Where You’ll Make an Impact:
- Assists bartenders in the service of beverages to guests.
- Maintains service stations, cleanliness of bars and re-stocks to par.
- Puts beverage orders away in correct locations, re-stocking of pump room, soda room, and changing out kegs as needed.
- Assists guests and co-workers in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Stocks main coolers with all beverage products.
- Shovels ice from ice machine into ice bins.
- Maintains deep cleaning of all beverage areas and equipment.
- Abides by all regulations pertaining to alcoholic beverage service to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state gaming regulations.
- Understands and complies with all State gaming regulations.
- Abides by company and department specific appearance standards.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills to Help You Succeed:
- Must be able to work in smoke filled environments.
- Must be certified in the Company approved alcohol awareness training.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain licensure as required by the State Gaming Agency for the position.
- Must have thorough knowledge of approved Responsible Gaming Program.
- Required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repeatedly move across a large casino with a true sense of urgency.
- Ability to stand for long periods of times without sitting or leaning.
- Use of going up and down stairs multiple times per day and elevators.
- Requires lifting of very heavy items such as beer kegs.
- Handling, carrying, or lifting items weighing up to 160 pounds.
- Ability to climb, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms, work under variable temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to use near vision, see details at close range.
- 24/7 high energy casino with a large amount of gaming entertainment space and large number of coworkers.
- Exposed to alcohol, cigarette and cigar smoke, bright lights, adult language, and loud noises.
