Eaton’s Information Technology division is currently seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team. This position is based at our Moon TWP, PA facility. The position is eligible for a hybrid work setup (3 days in office and 2 days remote).
The expected annual salary range for this role is $88,499 – $140,000 a year.

What you’ll do:
Eaton Corporation is currently seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Information Technology team. This role will reside in our Moon Twp, PA, facility.
DBAs are responsible for ensuring that the underlying infrastructure and systems are running smoothly and that applications are working as expected. They also monitor applications and associated services to reduce downtime and ensure their availability. DBAs apply automation to any parts of the system that can benefit from it.
The DBAs will work closely with developers and testers and will be on the same Scrum team in most cases. The DBAs will split their time (typically 50/50) between project and support activities. From the DBA perspective, they provide guidance and recommendations for SQL specifications according to application needs, as well as set up new SQL installations according to Eaton standards. From the support perspective, DBAs immediately address any issues that arise in critical systems. When there are no immediate critical issues to address, they typically work on applying automation to the systems / processes, work on the backlog list of modification requests, or take on additional database environment optimization work.
Job Responsibilities:
– Install, support, enhance, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments using a combination of processes and tools
– Analyze server requirements, provide solution design
– Help developers, vendors, and testers create and support a database structure to meet their requirements.
– Implement configuration management, security policies, maintain software standards
– Recommend, develop, and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the database environment
– Works with Cybersecurity engineers to ensure standard practices, testing, and security principles are being adopted and enforced within database environments
– Work closely with development teams and vendors to understand application purpose and setup to assess optimal options for SQL installations, usage, and ensure proper deployment of databases related to their applications.
– Create and maintain technical documentation, including requirement translation, technical specifications, and support documents.
– Provide training and mentorship to more junior DBAs and SQL support team
– Creation, configuration, and maintenance of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
– Collaborate with multiple technical groups

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the software industry
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
