Wondery is looking for an Agency Development Lead to support our rapidly growing business, reporting to our Head of Ad Revenue. This is an exciting time to join a fast-growing company within an emerging new media space, in a role with broad scope and potential to make a real impact. This person will partner closely with Account Executives to establish Wondery as the leading global podcast ad network. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth within the six major advertising agency holding companies (WPP, Publicis Groupe, Omnicom, Interpublic, Dentsu and Havas by prospecting, pitching the value proposition, and developing relationships with podcast advertising buyers. You will also lead the development and negotiation of trading agreements, joint business plans, and other partnerships with the agency holding companies.

Key job responsibilities
* Act as the primary liaison, escalation point and advisor for our agency partners in the US
* Establish and foster working relationships with key decision makers at the agency holding company level
* Lead account planning process (e.g., joint business plans, establish rate cards, etc.) that aligns agency and Wondery objectives to maximize growth
* Own agency contact mapping, business reviews, education plans, and communications
* Identify new opportunities / prospective clients from agency partners and route them to appropriate sales teams
* Structure and develop a strategic agency narrative to drive growth and adoption of Wondery’s podcast advertising solutions
* Represent Wondery in the advertising community by seeking out and participating at industry events
A day in the life
The ideal candidate will have previously held a similar role in a quickly scaling advertising business, ideally at an entertainment company, digital brand, or agency, and have a passion for selling advertising solutions to the C-evel agency decision makers. With their deep rolodex of agency relationships, and consultative approach and deep understanding of the podcasting landscape, they will act as a strategic partner to our agency partners and ensure that their business goals are met.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in media sales
- 5+ years of experience with entertainment marketing, audio or other media sales
- Experience building client-side media agency partnerships
- Experience using data and analytics to drive sales strategy and results
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent sales experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Agency, business development, or sales experience within a digital media company
- Significant proven successful experience working in or with media & creative agencies
- A network of senior agency leaders and decision-makers at the major holding companies across the US
- An understanding of audio advertising is a must and podcasting is a plus
- Ability to deliver high-impact presentations and lead educational programs for large audiences
- Extensive trading experience and understanding of US agency market dynamics
- Collaboration and ability to work within a fast-paced, matrixed sales organization
- Experience with sales across fortune 500 advertisers and agencies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. This position is eligible for variable pay via a sales compensation plan. These plans pay according to achievement level against sales targets and/or business objectives.
