NATURE OF WORK:

Senior administrative assistant to City Clerk and supports City Clerk’s Office. Support City Clerk’s Office, by providing highly responsible and varied secretarial and administrative support work which may include budget and fiscal work; contract monitoring; research; project coordination to ensure they are complete, accurate, and meet deadlines; personnel transactions; travel, training, and meeting arrangements; prioritizing correspondence, mail, and calls; preparing and/or compiling reports and correspondence for self or manager’s signature; records meetings; handles inquiring within own capacity performing a variety of duties, etc. Works independently in completing several administrative projects/processes.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus (4) four years of related experience performing progressively more responsible secretarial and administrative work including office management and use of advance computer skills such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must complete a background check. Must type 35 WPM. Notary Public preferred or must become a Notary Public within 90 days upon hire.

Typing Test Information:

  • Tests are administered by invitation only.
  • Only applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be invited via email. Invitations will be sent to the email address listed on the application.
  • Applicants will have (3) three days from the date of the invitation to complete the test. Tests may be completed virtually or onsite.
  • Applicants are allowed one opportunity to pass the typing test within a posting period or any given 30 days. Scores are valid for one year.
