This position will be responsible for program management and business analysis of the sales compensation program and processes for the World Wide Commercial Sector (WWCS) sales organization. As a sales compensation operations manager, the position will be responsible for driving key, senior level sales compensation programs for the organization that address our business governance, performance management as well as guiding the organization to prepare for senior reviews.
The role will also provide analytical support focused on understanding sales compensation program performance insight, and market performance dynamics. The role will further support projects that are focused on developing and refining the sales compensation strategy of the sales organization through the use of analytics. The role will assist in establishing dashboards, operational metrics, and analysis to insight activities to support the rapid growth of the AWS public sector business. It will also include developing business papers for review by leadership to articulate strategy, recommendations as well as performance insights.
Additional responsibilities include.
– Work collaboratively across the sales operations team, finance, sales, to build strategic sales programs, compensation plans and incentive structures that drive successful achievement of business objectives and build consensus across business leaders.
– Own ensuring that sales programs, compensation plans and incentive structures are operational and driving the right behaviors.
– Participate in the incentive compensation design to deployment process globally which will involve working with business leaders and sales leadership to understand strategic business objectives, assessing the success of current incentives and programs, proposing new incentive designs, securing final decisions and approvals, and communicating new incentives to employees, sales operations and leadership.
– Project managing deployment solutions across internal and external business partners from documentation of final plan designs, system updates and implementation to deployment.
– Develop performance dashboards that encompass key sales compensation metrics to be reviewed with senior sales directors and WWCS leadership team in order to drive and manage the business
– Assist in the development of metrics and reports to manage sales compensation program performance across the entire WWCS sales organization
– Drive analytics projects to provide deep insights into sales compensation program performance and go-forward strategy implications
– Coordinate across AWS to share programs and best-practices as well as participate on any pan-corporation programs as needed.
– Assist with analytical projects focused on deep insights that enable business planning decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of experience in the areas of finance, sales compensation, sales operations with in-depth understanding of sales compensation practices.
– 5+ years of experience of Incentive compensation/performance management software knowledge and understanding.
– 5+ years of strong Excel experience and the ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into insights and action.
– BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Sales compensation domain expertise
– Experience using BI tools
– Exhibits sound business judgment, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership and leading data-driven analyses to support and grow a business.
– Experience working within a high-growth, technology company would be beneficial
– Self-motivated, action-oriented, multi-tasking individual with a great sense of urgency and follow-through
– Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market.
