Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Analyst I.
In this role, the data center operations senior administrator (DCSA) will be responsible for ensuring all work being performed in the data center meets or exceeds best practices and NYUMCIT standards. Ensure the reliability and uptime of the environment is never at risk. The DCSA will have advance knowledge of hardware, network, storage and power distribution within the environment. The DCSA will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and monitoring of the data center and supporting infrastructure which includes and is not limited to servers, storage arrays, network switches and MOAs. Ensure the security of the data center.
The DCSA will manage members of the team and be responsible for monitoring the environment through tools and addressing issues identified. Maintaining the health and wellbeing of all devices through the updates of any firmware and BIOS.
The DCSA will work across teams to support the installation and deployment of business required systems (ie servers, switches, storage arrays,etc). Will make recommendation based on requirements and how to best manage devices in the data center.
Job Responsibilities:
- Day to day operations
- Provide coverage during and outside normal working hours based on rotation scheduling
- Provide support and resolution to technical issues relate to devices managed in the data center
- Work with OEM (warrantied devices)
- Work with 2nd party support ( maintenance provider, out of warranty)
- Create a schedule for managing and addressing the maintenance (break/fix) of devices in the data center
- Manage incident and service request to team
- Review SLA
- Review OLA
- Establish the KPIs and metrics and reporting to evidence a healthy and within specifications (SLAs) operational environment
- Capacity management – Planning and scaling of devices inside the data center
- Based on system being worked/managed
- Provide power needed
- Balancing of power
- Provide space needed
- Provide networking zoning/requirement availability
- Provide storage when needed
- Report on power in cabinet
- Report on power on the floor
- Report on RU availability i.e. decommissioning & open RU(s)
- Based on system being worked/managed
- Manage secure entry into data center
- Note SR/Incident/change
- Note reason
- Note functions
- Escort and perform oversite of CE/FE
- Manage inventory of assets in data center
- Capture the life cycle of the node i.e. inventory, pre-commission, retired
- Warranty versus maintenance coverage of node/device
- Decommissioning of hardware must be tracked and disposed of using approved policies
- Make sure no PHI/HIPAA data is not compromised
- Transition status from non-prod environments into production
- Make sure PHI/HIPAA data is not compromise
- Manage CI entry and updates
- In CMDB
- In DCIM
- Manage receipt of equipment into data center
- Making sure the node is not damaged
- Moving from loading dock to storage room to data center
- Informing other groups of delivery
- Manage rack elevation
- Tracking location within the rack (DCIM/CMDB)
- RUs being occupied
- This include devices that required power or not
- This includes any RU taken due to unique cabling or power needed
- Create and update internal policies to meet business demands and evolution
- Process are living documents and need to be updated as technology and environment evolves
- Change management
- Entering tasks into change tickets to reflect true effort required to complete change
- Entering hand offs between teams
- Communicating and documenting modification needed
- Manage monitoring and support of devices
- Using OEM tools
- Other monitoring tools i.e. solar winds, Nlyte, etc.
- Conduct research and remain current with the latest technologies and solutions in support of procurement efforts
- Work with vendor on installation of new technology so hardware architecture is understood
- Support quarterly disaster recovery testing
- Other relate duties
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1-3 years of prior work experience in a professional setting and a Bachelor’s degree. Strong analytical skills; working knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Vision. Ability to collect, analyze and understand data trends. Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to write reports containing technical information. Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards preferred. Knowledge of quality control practices and procedures within a patient care facility. Word processing and/or data entry skills. Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops. Sensitivity to confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in health-related field preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,721.84 – $77,413.02 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
