JOB SUMMARY
Molina Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Associate General Counsel with 7-10 years of legal experience to join its Legal Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for a wide breadth of legal issues related to the operation of a health plan.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (Generally, the occupational knowledge and specific technical and professional skills and abilities required to perform the essential duties of this job):
- Provides legal advice on regulatory and compliance issues involving insurance, managed care, and licensing.
- Serves as general counsel to health plans operating Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, and MMP products.
- Works with health plan and corporate leadership as a strategic legal advisor.
- Leverages the following areas of legal specialization: vendor/procurement contracting, provider contracting, health plan operations, HIPAA, state Medicaid, and insurance agency interactions.
- Oversees and manages pre-litigation, litigation, arbitration, outside counsel, and legal spending, as needed.
- Investigates and responds to attorney demand letters related to claims provider disputes.
- Identifies and develops appropriate compliance strategies to ensure Company-wide compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• 7-10 years, with at least 3 years of healthcare experience, preferably with a combination of in-house and private practice experience.
• Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, a quick learner, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and interface as needed with colleagues throughout the business.
• Previous in-house experience and experience managing a team is highly preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Juris Doctorate
REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, ASSOCIATION:
State bar membership
Pay Range: $107,028- $208,705 a year*
