Overview

BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Fran• ois, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.

Ensures that clients receive quality behavioral health care. The program evaluates providers and monitors: quality of care, efficiency of care, client satisfaction and compliance and clinical standards.

Role Purpose

Responsible for developing, coordinating and performing all components of the compliance audits for BJC BH. The duties include but are not limited to the development of an audit program, performing details audits procedures, assessing results and reporting audit results to all levels of management to assist in the development of appropriate action plans and the monitoring of these plans.

Responsibilities

  • Identify audit observations, deficiencies, recommendations, process improvement opportunities, and best practices. Uses judgement, subject matter knowledge, and data analytics to understand significant business risks and escalates significant risk exposures to appropriate levels of management
  • Communicates audit findings to management and prepares written reports to address compliance or control gaps/issues. Collaborates with all levels of management to assist them in developing practical solutions and/or control enhancements. Monitors and follows up on the status of audit recommendations.
  • Leads all aspects of audit projects, including the planning, development and performing the audit tasks, documenting and evaluated of audit results.
  • Obtains an understanding of all policies, regulations or best practices related to the processes being reviewed to ensure that clinical care is being provided to the highest level of care.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws by auditing and validation of services provided and investigating specific employee or program concerns when identified. Completing the investigations into such and completing formal recommendations on actions needed based on review findings. Collocating findings from such reviews for shared learning for the agency.
  • Minimum Requirements

    Education

  • Master’s Degree
  • – Human Services or related
    Experience

  • 2-5 years
  • Licenses & Certifications

  • LCSW or LPC
