Job Title: AWS ADMINISTRATOR

Job Description:

Looking for Hadoop Administrator to join our team. The right person for this role should have experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining the Hadoop infrastructure, including setting up Hadoop clusters and configuring various components such as NameNode, DataNode, ResourceManager, and NodeManager. If you are someone who is proactive, hardworking, and enthusiastic in these domains, this is a phenomenal role for you!

Responsibilities:

Ø Install and configure Hadoop: The Hadoop Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the Hadoop infrastructure, including setting up Hadoop clusters and configuring various components such as NameNode, DataNode, ResourceManager, and NodeManager.

Ø Managing , planning and executing version upgrades as required by the contract. This may include but bit limited to Hive/Hadoop major/minor version upgrades.

Ø Monitor Hadoop infrastructure: The Hadoop Administrator will monitor the Hadoop infrastructure to ensure that it is running smoothly. This includes monitoring cluster performance, capacity, and availability, and ensuring that the Hadoop environment is optimized for performance.

Ø Manage Hadoop security: The Hadoop Administrator will be responsible for managing Hadoop security, including setting up security policies, managing user access and permissions, and ensuring that data is encrypted and protected.

Ø Backup and recovery: The Hadoop Administrator will develop and implement backup and recovery plans to ensure that data is not lost in the event of a system failure or disaster.

Ø Troubleshoot issues: The Hadoop Administrator will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity. The Administrator should have experience with debugging tools such as Jstack and Jmap, and be able to analyze logs and performance metrics to diagnose issues.

Ø Stay up-to-date with Hadoop technology: The Hadoop Administrator will stay up-to-date with the latest Hadoop technology and trends, including attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions.

Ø Develop and maintain documentation: The Hadoop Administrator will develop and maintain documentation for the Hadoop infrastructure, including creating user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.

Ø Collaborate with other teams: The Hadoop Administrator will collaborate with other teams such as developers, data scientists, and business analysts to ensure that the Hadoop infrastructure meets the needs of the organization.

Ø Participate in on-call rotation: This role will participate in an on-call rotation with other team members to provide support outside of normal working hours in case of emergencies or urgent issues.

Ø Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and tasks.

Qualifications:

v 7 to 9 years of experience as a Admin exp with minimum 3 years of Hadoop admin experience.

v Have excellent knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure

v Strong experience with Hadoop ecosystem components such as Linux management system, Shell Scrip, HDFS, YARN, Hive, and Spark

v Thorough understanding of the Presto open-source system and ability to write monitoring code

v Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Ganglia, and Ambari

v Experience with security frameworks such as Kerberos, LDAP, and SSL

v Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

v Strong written and verbal communication skills

v Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000 – 150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
