Salary Range: $140,000 – $150,000 (DOE)
Purpose of Position: The Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for implementing highly scalable and secure cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure. This role requires an in-depth understanding of Azure cloud computing technologies and a strong technical background deploying cloud infrastructure. The Azure Cloud Engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to understand their business needs and implement solutions that meet their requirements. Maintain on premise systems during cloud transition and provide daily operational support. Participate on projects as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Azure Cloud Engineer
- Design and implement cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure.
- Migrate existing on-premises applications and services to the cloud.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement solutions to meet the needs.
- Ensure cloud solutions are highly available, scalable, and secure.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing and recommend new technologies to the organization.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Operations & Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with cloud infrastructure or applications.
- Provide guidance on optimization of cloud resources.
- Maintain cloud infrastructure, including cloud-based virtual machines, containers, databases, and storage solutions. As assigned.
- Handle incidents and outages in cloud infrastructure, including performing root cause analyses, identifying, and prioritizing remediation actions, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts, tools, and templates to streamline support and improve overall efficiency.
- Create and maintain knowledge articles, documentation, and other reference materials to help team members quickly resolve common issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, new tools and technologies, or other enhancements that can increase efficiency or reduce impact.
- Monitor, maintain, administer, and support existing enterprise solutions to meet service level agreements. Exchange, AD, DFS, GPO, IIS, DNS, Web Applications, etc.
ITEO Projects
- Support various technical projects throughout the year as needed.
Miscellaneous
- On-site or remote regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- An understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture, including design patterns and principles, and how they differ from on-premises architecture.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as hypervisors, containers, and software-defined networking (SDN), used in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in automation technologies such as scripting, configuration management, and orchestration tools.
- Understanding of networking principles such as IP addressing, DNS, and load balancing in cloud environments.
- Awareness of cloud security concepts and best practices, including identity and access management, data protection, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), source code management, and infrastructure as code.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, and strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Five to eight (5-8) years’ experience with programming and automation tools and a strong understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
- Azure Fundamentals certification required.
- Additional certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and occasional standing and walking. Must have adequate hearing for phone work. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
