The AWS Data Center Design Engineering team is looking for an experienced Building Information Modeling (BIM) implementation engineer to help us build new BIM and data-centric technologies that will enable our team and customers to design, build, and operate our data centers faster. We are looking for a Sr. BIM Implementation Engineer with experience building secure, scalable BIM solutions that delight customers. As a foundational member of the technical team, you will be responsible for driving the team’s long-term vision and architecture, drive/shape roadmaps, and provide technical leadership to the engineering team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive software design and architecture experience, knowledge of AWS technologies and services, experience implementing BIM technologies for the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Owners (AECO) industry, and a proven track record of building mission critical, highly scalable systems. In addition to strong technical knowledge, you will be someone who understands how to balance moving quickly with long-term investments. Your are customer obsessed and passionate about solving hard ambiguous problems. You have a growth mindset, insatiable curiosity, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results without supervision. You bring a blend of strong technical skills and big-picture-thinking to design and build BIM applications/solutions that users love. You can wear multiple hats to identify and build solutions that streamline and transform the capabilities of the Data Center Design Engineering organization through automation.
Key job responsibilities
– Building tools, applications, and platforms that streamline and scale the Data Center Design Engineering team and its customers’ ability to deliver capacity.
– Partnering with internal teams to build automation and tools for internal partners and stakeholders.
– Participating in all stages of the software development life-cycle, spanning design, development, testing, and operation.
– Iterating on product features based on user feedback. Acting as your own PM when necessary.
– Building and operating entire applications end-to-end, across UI, API, Database, and Infrastructure.
– Participating in design and security reviews for team members to help improve the quality of all our services.
– Generating new ideas for improving operational capabilities of the Data Center Design Engineering team.
– Hire, mentor and lead a technical team of BIM Implementation Engineers and technical support staff.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of experience in developing BIM/AEC technologies and solutions in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction industry.
– 6+ years of proven track record of successfully developing and shipping enterprise or customer facing BIM/AEC design technologies and applications.
– 6+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
– Experience working and or integrating with technologies such as Autodesk Platform Services and Revit.
– Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
– Knowledge of full software development life cycle; including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Degree in Computer Science or equivalent fields.
– Experience with AWS serverless technologies.
– Passionate about learning new BIM/AEC technologies, frameworks and programming languages.
– Ability to research and develop prototypes to quickly iterate between solutions.
– Ability and willingness to think outside the box to translate complex problems into simple technical solutions.
– Possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
