Sr. Business Analyst – Horizontal Analytics
The horizontal analytics team is a team within the Enterprise Products and Experience organization focused on developing and maintaining platform analytics to drive product strategy, and quantifying the value delivered from new capabilities. The team is looking for a senior analyst to support the Associate Experience product team, which delivers products and experiences that advance associate productivity and collaboration across the enterprise.
As a senior business analyst, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to solve complex questions. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Problem solving: Partnering with product leaders to develop robust estimates of value creation for new associate experience capabilities
Data analysis: Using data to better understand who is using our capabilities, how they are being used, and ultimately developing and improving dashboards to provide transparency to platform leaders and stakeholders
Product: Partnering closely with product to inform product capability and roadmap. Identifying development work required to develop metrics, helping to size the required effort, and driving to have this work prioritized
Successful team members will need competencies in:
Execution: Create problem frameworks, develop hypotheses, assess practical feasibility, and support implementation
Partnership: Work closely with partners such as other Product leaders, Tech, Design, and Finance
Strategic & analytic orientation: A track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation
Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: Brings a healthy, tenacious, yet responsible approach to business. Shows sound judgment under ambiguity
Strong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment. Possesses a successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
- At least 1 year of experience in analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
- 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building
- 1+ years of experience in market research
- 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
- 2+ years of experience in business analysis
- 1+ years of experience in consulting

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $112,400 – $128,300 for Sr. Business Analyst
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
