Position Title: Senior Engineer, Cloud Infrastructure (P4)

Role:
As a Sr Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will advance Crown Castle’s cloud transformation and will be part of the team building and assisting with our migration to the cloud. You will be responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining the underlying infrastructure both on-prem and in the cloud to support AWS cloud services. You will develop the cloud environment while helping to maintain our on-prem infrastructure taking into consideration factors such as workload requirements, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery in support of cloud transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, cost-effective, and highly available containerized infrastructure solutions using the AWS platform
- Set up and configure virtual machines, storage resources, networking components, and other cloud services
- Analyze resource usage patterns, forecast future requirements, and optimize the infrastructure to ensure cost-effective utilization of cloud resources
- Collaborate with other technology teams, stakeholders, and partners to gather requirements, define architecture, and provide technical expertise for projects
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and provide recommendations for improving our infrastructure
- Leverage AWS-based architecture and partner with DevSecOps to develop scripts to support continuous deployment process and maintain the environment via TFS/Terraform
- Partner with cloud & data architects on database design patterns/models
- Partner with application teams on their cloud adoption and application modernization journey

Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Math or related discipline
- AWS cloud certifications (Cloud Practitioner and/or Cloud Database)
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure resources
- 3+ years of experience developing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure across various services: compute, storage, networking, databases, and security both locally and in the cloud
- Ability to design and configure network components on-prem and in the cloud environment to ensure secure and reliable connectivity
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, secure network architectures, and compliance requirements
- Understanding of virtualization technologies and containerized platforms to optimize, scale and manage applications and utilization.
- Cloud migration experience
- Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.
- Comfort and experience working in an Agile environment
Working Conditions: Position will be remote with expectations to work on-site during “moments that matter.” Approximately 10-15% travel may be required.
For New York City, Colorado, California, and Washington residents – The hiring range offered for this position is $130,000 – $170,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 20% of annual salary and restricted stock. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
