The Senior Compensation Analyst is the lead compensation analyst, responsible for the systems and processes used for position grading and FLSA determinations for all SF2-US and C4-US entities. Responsible for developing and administering compensation policies and procedures, including, but not limited to: Salary Band structures, Geographical Pay systems, Expert Career Path, Salary administration, Bonus administration. In support of BMW Group’s business objectives, this position requires regular attendance at a BMW office/facility with remote work capability (hybrid).
Compensation:
- Develops and modifies harmonized Compensation policies and procedures for C4-US and SF2-US and affiliated companies.
- Analyzes and evaluates salaries to determine if they are at a competitive level, aligned with market value and/or team equity and makes recommendations for structural adjustments.
- Manage position data to ensure proper tracking and reporting of salary bands, personal grades and function levels.
- Works with HR Management and HR Services teams to ensure that changes to compensation structure are accurately reflected in SAP.
- Lead Analyst responsible for managing Geographical Pay structure for SF2-US and C4-US Associates, and evolving the structure and policies, resulting in a harmonized approach.
- Evaluates effectiveness of current compensation processes, assesses market pay trends against business needs, and makes recommendation of appropriate courses of action. Drives ongoing improvements and/or changes.
- Leads analysis of compensation-related data to identify trends and patterns. Examines pay data for equity under the Equal Pay Act, Title VII, ADEA, the ADA and other relevant legislation related to compensation discrimination.
- Leads efforts to standardize career path elements, including Expert Career Path, within and across functions, resulting in a standardized framework of requirements.
Supports and guides Compensation Analyst with:
- Grading of current and new positions, utilizing the BMW group policies/procedures.
- Compensation surveys and maintaining the job description library. o Evaluation of job descriptions to determine function level and salary band.
- Determination of market values and compensation ranges for external salary offers.
- Application of FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) guidelines to determine exemption status.
- Work with Employment team to develop salary offers utilizing salary market data and BMW guidelines.
Projects:
- Leads projects including, but not limited to, implementation of software and design and implementation of new processes. Communicates project status with Accounting, Controlling, HR colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Lead projects and processes that help keep compensation levels competitive for hiring retention, and promotion opportunities.
Annual Salary and Bonus Planning Process:
- Owner of the SF2-US and C4-US platform of SuccessFactors for Salary and Bonus processing. Reviews, audits and maintains the system to ensure accurate calculations and data integrity. This includes determining updates to be made and working with FG-5 and external consultants to make these changes, while testing the system for accuracy.
- Responsible for the administration and processing of the company wide annual bonus program through SuccessFactors, while adhering to company guidelines and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
- Administers the annual company merit increase program, which includes reviewing and updating guidelines based on BMW Group standards, industry best practices, and trends. Solely responsible for the merit increase process through SuccessFactors. Ensures compliance with policies and data integrity.
- Prepares and ensures all load files for bonus and merit increases are provided to the Payroll team for timely processing.
- Coordinates bonus and merit for inbound and outbound internationals by making recommendations to the respective host HR country and respective manager, to determine the salary and bonus for the associates.

The pay range for this role is: $105,213.00 – $123,780.00
The selected candidate’s education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications
- 5-7 years’ experience in Human Resources position including:
- 3+ Years experience in Compensation system administration
- 3+ Years experience grading experience
- 3 Years experience making FLSA exemption status determinations
- 3 years minimum project management experience
- 3 years minimum data analysis and reporting experience
- 1 year minimum experience creating and delivering executive level presentations
Preferences:
- Formal Change Management certification
- Master’s degree in Business or mathematics preferred
- Working knowledge of FLSA
- SPHR or CCP certifications preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Microsoft Access, experience with payroll system preferred, Mathematical aptitude and analysis skills
- Knowledge of financial reporting processes and requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization
- The ability to keep sensitive information confidential is imperative
