Job Description

The role of Sr Construction Innovation Manager will work across all apparel product categories, internal product teams and external vendor partners to lead construction innovation projects.

The Sr Construction Innovation Manager will lead the creation and maintenance of the Vuori Construction Standards Manuals for all product categories. Fostering education and training across the Design, Tech Design and Vendor teams on standards. Injecting innovation into how we build garments with best-in-class construction methods. There is opportunity for an additional breadth of responsibilities in this role as we continue to grow as a brand.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the elevation of garment construction knowledge and teach cross functional teams about construction standards, best in class methods and sewing/no sew industrial machinery
  • Drive efficiency in tech pack creation by upleveling the detail of construction communication at initial tech pack handover from Design to Tech design and follow through with vendors
  • Creating project timelines for the development through to completion of category specific construction standards manuals
  • Perform ongoing competitor research to benchmark current constructions and create best in class construction methods for all product types
  • Create visual construction diagrams in Adobe Illustrator for manuals and seasonal innovation projects
  • Develop training for internal partners and overseas vendor base on construction standards
  • Create consistency in construction/craft of products across the vendor base
  • Lead work streams with creative designers’ pre-season to create construction concepts including mockups to utilize in deign reviews
  • Trouble shoot to solve quality issues pertaining to product construction during seasonal development and postproduction
  • Create opportunities to test new construction methods on consumers before integrating into seasonal products
  • Perform thread, internal component, and interlining research on all core fabrications when fabrics are adopted
  • Manage to launch season deadlines for all special projects
  • Organized with time management, strong attention to detail and must be a self-starter
  • Is a leader and team player, able to lead other team members to manage overall project deliverables across complex projects including multiple stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Degree in design or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in apparel technical development roles
  • Must have deep knowledge of garment construction of apparel performance products
  • Must have knowledge of materials and trims and how they react to types of craft
  • Must have experience communicating with vendors overseas and working in apparel factories
  • Must have previous exposure to industrial sewing machinery, knowledge of how to operate and modify the machines is a plus
  • Ability to create visual standards documents and detailed illustrations of construction methods in Adobe Illustrator
  • Must have innovation mindset, ability to work through complex steps to improve construction of garments and enhance the consumer’s experience
  • Ability to manage concept development through trial and error to solution in partnership with creative and technical designers
  • Ability to communicate garment pattern/fit correction a plus
  • Must be able to lead projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with cross functional teams (design, development, merch and production)
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Must be able to work proficiently in Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator

Additional Information

Pay Range: $110,500 – $130,000
