We are currently seeking a specialist that will work at our Pomona, CA Division Office.
Duties/Responsibilities
This role works in tandem with project managers and other project stakeholders to perform various project management activities in the successful execution of projects, varying in size and complexity, and ensuring achievement of organizational goals. The resource is responsible for leading, organizing and controlling project activities including, but not limited to, driving consensus in key decision-making discussions, coordinating the development and execution of key deliverables, presentations, and management of essential documents for SCE’s portfolio of projects. The resource may be required to work throughout the Edison service territory as needed in support of project meetings and deliverables.
Preferred Experience
- Must have a minimum of five or more years of experience in a project management support position.
- Must have a minimum of two or more years of experience performing project management functions such as investigating and resolving problems, coordinating, and communicating key project decisions and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management or related field.
- Project Management Certificate.
- Demonstrated experience working in a utility or contractor environment supporting the development and/or execution of major transmission or distribution projects, large capital projects, or Third Party interconnection projects.
- Demonstrated experience using intermediate-level Microsoft Office suite, including spreadsheet and presentation software tools to report out data trends and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with applications such as SharePoint, Aconex or other document management platforms
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple disciplines, interdepartmental teams and engaging with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.
- Ability to proactively manage time constraints, prioritize work, and resolve project related concerns through strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for coordinating activities that support completion of tasks necessary for project execution, conduct analysis to support problem identification and solutions and document and track project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones, deliverables, and budgets.
- May recommend and implement solutions and may also lead project teams under the direction of Project Manager.
- Act as a key resource to project team, department and division management, customers, and/or client organizations. Will also analyze and resolve complex issues ensuring team and project needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Will lead key decision-making discussions independently and with little direction ensuring project activities and deliverables move forward, exercising judgment and discretion to advise and recommend courses of action, provide input for decisions regarding establishing and changing project direction, particularly in the absence of the PM.
- Will lead independent analysis and consistent follow-up with all relevant stakeholders to drive completion of project deliverables, action items, and objectives.
- Partner with Project Manager (PM) and cross-functional team to ensure the project meets schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Effectively and accurately coordinate and communicate meeting decisions and key project deliverables (e.g. bids, RFPs, contracts, reports, presentations, regulatory documents, etc.).
- Gather, track, and manage documents to analyze and draw conclusions on complex data and information after considering alternatives through independent research and analysis.
- Track and provide oversight of document management, change management, action and decision logs, risk logs and governance materials in accordance with MPO policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with PM to ensure contractor meets the schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Develop meeting minutes for project team and key deliverables/presentations for Project Manager and Org Unit management review and approval.
- Coordinate and participate as needed in support of job walks, bid walks and other necessary site visits.
- Provide consistent communication and follow up with Project Manager and project team to drive project deliverables, completion of action items and to resolve concerns.
- Facilitate collaborative meetings and document review processes
- Independently manage the transmittal and retrieval of project documents in/from applicable document management repository (i.e., SharePoint).
- Travel may be required throughout the Edison service territory
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field of study
- Experience working with large datasets and generating reports
- Experience developing visual reporting using tools like SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI or Tableau
- Experience using pivot tables, v-lookups and other fundamental data management techniques
Highly Preferred
- Experience with SAS Base or SAS Enterprise Guide
- Experience with VBA, SQL or other querying languages
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise data repository
