The Role at a Glance

Lincoln’s Corporate Communications team manages internal and external communications across the company. This role will oversee all the operational elements that enable the communications team; managing the platforms and vendors the team uses, helping to develop operating principles, governance processes and best practices, establishing onboarding and training programs, monitoring and reporting the impact of effective communications and ensuring all budgets and financial processes are aligned.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead communication channel management and ongoing enhancements for company intranet, email distribution platform and mobile communication app.
  • Establish regular and as-needed governance meetings, working sessions, trainings, etc., and serve as a point of contact for internal partners and external vendors.
  • Develop and manage processes for the team – including governance, best practices, measurement reporting and more.
  • Assist with development of Quarterly Business Review materials and strategic plan documents.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of vendors to ensure delivery in line with contractual obligations and performance metrics; contract negotiations, manage spending and maintain accurate records of budget.
  • Use available analytics from Insights and Marketing partners to monitor, report, and communicate the impact of effective communications and provide proactive ideas and recommendations based on internal and external benchmarks and performance metrics.
  • Establishes solid and constructive connections/relationships with internal colleagues and external industry/communications associations, as appropriate.

What we’re looking for

  • 4 Year/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) (Minimum Required)
  • 3 – 5+ years corporate communications, marketing and/or project management experience (Required)
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Motivated self-starter, resourceful.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills, including the critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment/under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and work requirements simultaneously and prioritizing as required.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates strong writing ability, including (1) strong understanding of and adherence to grammar rules, and (2) ability to translate complex topics into understandable and actionable communications.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend process improvements, new tools and new ways of doing things.
  • Demonstrates strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior leaders, managers, peers, and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify causes and solutions for conflict. Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency with internal communication tools. Must be able to quickly learn to how to leverage internal email communication system (Poppulo), internal mobile app platform (Firstup), and how to manage intranet pages (SharePoint).

Pay Range: $87,700 – $159,900

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
