Sr. Copywriter, Special Projects

Amazon is looking for a Senior Copywriter to join an exciting project team working to build a best-in-class product. This is a green-field opportunity where you will own and execute a UX content strategy, and lead the development of key marketing messages and go-to-market campaigns working closely with UX design, UX research, product, and marketing teams to implement.

The Senior copywriter thinks strategically, operates methodically, and demonstrates extreme customer empathy with their writing. They are inspired by tackling new creative challenges, are a self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity. The Senior Copywriter has strong attention to detail, and will define and create standards, patterns, and mechanisms to create net new copy that is crisp, clear, and customer-centric. They are obsessed with understanding how our customers think, and they fiercely advocate for the best possible user experience for them. They strive to ensure that customers have the right information, when they need it. They develop content frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, product narratives, and other deliverables that help gain cross-functional alignment of their writing and content strategy. They also lead collaboration with curiosity to partner with internal teams to test, learn, and optimize creative performance.

Key job responsibilities
• Help to define the practice of content strategy and design in our organization.
• Maintain and evolve voice and copy guidelines.
• Work with Design and Product to influence product strategy and deliver precise UX guidelines and patterns.
• Data-driven and obsessed with understanding customers and making work that delivers results
• Partner with marketing and creative teams to develop bold campaigns that speak to our target customers and drive both awareness and conversion.
• Partner with channel managers and key business partners across Amazon to develop best practices for paid asset creation.
• Contribute to the professional development of colleagues across the team, improving their writing skills, knowledge, and best practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years in customer-facing copywriting or similar role.
• Degree or certification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Online portfolio URL preferably in your resume.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Successful delivery of multi-channel content strategy
• A portfolio of samples demonstrating: Content strategy, Brand voice development, UX Writing, and marketing.
• Obsession for driving a best-in-class experience for customers
• Experience writing long-form content
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices
• History of independently owning ambiguous projects
• Experience working cross-functionally with a passion for collaboration
• A history of creating simple and clear messaging related to complex technical products
• Experience with medical writing, copywriting, digital content creation, information architecture, content marketing, and/or other content specialties.
• Experience with Design Systems, Design Guidelines and/or UI Components documentation.
• Experience with web standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $90,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $178,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
