The Corporate Legal team is comprised of a talented group of legal professionals who partner with our business in the areas of payments, M&A, finance, corporate and commercial transactions, corporate governance, capital markets, and related matters. We also work closely with Tony West, our Chief Legal Officer, with respect to matters involving the board of directors and corporate governance more broadly.

We are searching for a paralegal to join our Corporate legal team who will support a broad range of corporate matters, including all things related to governance, securities, capital markets and other strategic transactions. This is a phenomenal opportunity to work on groundbreaking issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment! This position is based in the San Francisco office.
What You’ll Do
– Assist with public company filings and compliance, including Section 16 filings, SEC periodic reporting and proxy statements
– Support broader corporate secretary function on governance and other corporate matters and workstreams, including support of Board and committee meetings, support of shareholder engagements and corporate recordkeeping
– Assist with capital markets and other corporate transactions, including due diligence and virtual data room building, and post-closing matters
– Assist with compliance on various internal corporate processes and controls and maintain corporate databases
– Assist corporate team in providing general corporate support to finance, treasury, tax, ESG and other internal legal, G&A, and operations teams on a broad range of matters
– Work with global governance team to support and maintain, and scale processes for Uber’s expansive portfolio of domestic and international legal entities
– Assist with general corporate entity maintenance of our global subsidiaries, including working with our filing agent on state filings, drafting standard corporate paperwork, forming new entities, dissolving entities, managing and updating our entity management platform
– Assist with global signature requests, which includes collecting both wet and electronic signatures, and also may include arranging notary and apostille/authentication of documents
Basic Qualifications
– A minimum of 8+ years of paralegal experience in either a law firm (big law preferred) or an in-house legal department focusing on corporate work
Preferred Qualifications
– Highly collaborative, inquisitive, with a solutions-based approach
– Active in your approach to getting the job done, and no task is too big or too small for you
– Prior experience with public company reporting obligations, including Section 16 filings, and in-house public company governance experience
– Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate
– Technical savvy. Proficient with Google docs, Google sheets, Adobe, and e-signing tools such as DocuSign
– Excellent business judgment, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
– Strong written and oral communications and collaboration skills. Given Uber’s global presence, this will be a very cross-functional role, with partner teams potentially spanning multiple offices across multiple time-zones
– Proven attention to detail
– Speed, resourcefulness, and a go-getter mentality. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and navigating ambiguity

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $110,000 per year – $122,000 per year.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity.
