The Assoc. Director of Training and Development will lead the learning and development team and is responsible for the assessment, identification and development of strategies to meet the training and development needs of the Mission. In addition, this position is responsible for the creation, implementation, and improvement of all Mission-wide training efforts for our Programs and internal staff.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategy and roadmap aligning learning and enablement to business priorities and needs across audience groups (managers, employees, leaders)
  • Provide expertise on best practices for modes of learning ranging from self-service to off-the shelf to customized and balances POV with pragmatic recommendations
  • Drive L&D programs end to end including:
    • Create and drive L&D operating rhythms and standards within the People Operations team and partner with collaborators as an advisor on L&D best practices
    • Collaborate to create a seamless end to end learning experience across various programming (D&I, R&D, TA, etc)
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels in a variety of formats
  • Identify roadmap of systems/tools needed to support L&D efforts for today and the future. Advise on system implementation to ensure L&D programmatic needs are met
  • Establish and measure L&D program effectiveness based on knowledge retention and behavior change
  • Build a framework of execution & facilitation, blending live & virtual experiences for L&D that specifically aligns to our culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, education, human resources or related field; Masters is preferred
  • Six (6)+ years of experience in building scalable learning and development programs
  • Deep expertise in learning & development space including familiarity with traditional and progressive thought leadership and methodology in this space and the ability to provide strategic and proactive guidance
  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of curriculum/content creation, maintenance of training processes, and the successful development of ongoing training and development programs.
  • Proficient understanding of the workings of a faith-based culture and creating, adapting and applying spiritual content in an adult learning environment is preferred
  • Proficient with various multi-media platforms and Learning Management Systems (Paycom preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate to advanced knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time in a temperature-controlled environment. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Occasionally lifts up to 20 pounds and walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within the company. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
