About the Role
We are currently searching for a Sr. Director, M&A Legal to lead Uber’s M&A Legal team in the Corporate Legal department. This is a great opportunity to work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Corporate Legal, and is based in San Francisco.
What You’ll Do
– Lead the M&A legal team
– Negotiate and manage M&A transactions, partnering closely with the corporate development team, with cross-functional input and collaboration across the company
– Be an active and trusted business partner to a wide variety of leaders and stakeholders across the business
– Create and implement policies and practices to ensure consistent implementation of legal guidance and alignment on risks
– Exercise strong judgment and be able to think creatively
– Be a strong communicator and collaborator to support and develop a high-performing, diverse team that achieves our legal and business priorities
Basic Qualifications
– Minimum of 15+ years of M&A and corporate legal experience in private practice and/or in-house
– J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state

– Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
– Strong team orientation, with confidence and flexibility to perform in forward-thinking, constantly evolving, and growing environments
– Collaborative approach with both business and legal groups, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others
– Superior analytical and legal skills, mature judgment, innovative thinking, and a desire to take the initiative and think two steps ahead
– Ability to translate complex legal issues and ambiguity into clear and simple advice, to communicate effectively with non-legal internal colleagues, and to collaborate with a broad range of senior business managers, executives, and other colleagues and professionals across our company

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $293,000 per year – $325,500 per year.
