The Senior Director of Information Technology (Director of IT) is a full-time, exempt position of Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) which must agree with and abide by our Statement of Faith. In addition, all employees must comply with policies as summarized in the DRM Employee Handbook.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director of IT reports to the Vice President of Finance & Administration (VPFA) on all functions and is responsible for upholding the policies as set forth by the Board of Directors.
Hiring Range : $91,200 – $121,600 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

IT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead DRM’s information technology team to ensure the organization’s technology environment is reliable, secure, and evolving to meet ever-changing needs.
- Strategically align the work and effort of the information technology team with the organization’s strategic direction by collaboratively creating and implementing a strategic information technology roadmap.
- Develop, implement, and monitor DRM’s IT governance process and system to ascertain and mitigate technology risks through policy implementation, risk mitigation efforts, and implementation of technology standards and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all IT related regulations including PCI compliance and data confidentiality.
- Ensure IT best practices related to back-up systems and processes, data security, network security and infrastructure, service desk, disaster recovery, device management, disbursed work arrangements, wireless access, and other security and infrastructure systems and process are in place and optimized.
- Oversee the execution of DRM’s IT infrastructure, network, phone system, and hardware enhancements and upgrades, including the continued effort to migrate all systems to cloud-based environments.
- Build relationships with and support leadership in all departments throughout DRM to better meet their needs by delivering customer-focused technology solutions proactively and performing technology-related training across DRM.
- In conjunction with the VPFA develop, monitor, and deploy DRM’s technology budget on an annual basis including budgeting and planning for capital expenditures annually.
- Lead the IT team’s project management efforts to ensure projects are on track while managing the day-to-day workload of the IT team.
- Build a team of highly effective technology professionals that supports DRM’s multiple locations with a customer-first posture while actively working after hours as needed.
- All other duties assigned by the VPFA and other leaders in DRM.
IMPACT AND SYSTEMS SUPPORT
- Coordinate with the organization’s Impact Team to effectively support the implementation of new software applications and upgrades to existing applications that include Salesforce, Case Worthy, Great Plains, and others.
- In conjunction with the Sr. Director of Operations and as directed by the VPFA, provide support to DRM’s Impact team to:
- Direct the planning, design, development, and integration of all databases and supporting software systems.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team and their staff to define success across all areas of DRM and create processes using the databases and supporting software to measure effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary contact for database system vendors, managing bids, technical support, ensuring continued upkeep on upgrades.
- Manage and implement enhancements and modifications to the program/operations (CaseWorthy), development (Salesforce), and accounting databases (Microsoft Dynamics GP).
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related degree.
- Minimum of 8 years leadership experience in Information Technology required, preferably in a senior technology leadership capacity.
- Experience directing a team with synergy and innovative ideas and performing all aspects of employee leadership and performance management.
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, to report progress, garner support for projects, and deliver training effectively.
- Experience with technology governance, creating and implementing technology policies, and developing and implementing technology infrastructure according to best practices.
- Extensive experience with largescale technology implementations that utilized sound change leadership practices.
- Customer focused mindset that constantly seeks to better meet the needs of DRM’s team.
- Ability to work well under pressure with willingness to work after-hours to ensure the continuity of technology.
- Experience with budgeting and planning in a growing organization while balancing various priorities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction from upper management.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills while maintaining a respectful relationship with all co-workers and organization leadership.
