Description:Systems Engineer Staff – Systems Engineering
This position is for an experienced engineer in systems engineering. The team that this position is on provides support across the entire product line including new and existing programs. The candidate will be part of a fast paced, dynamic environment exploring state of the art technical solutions that will include MBSE. In this environment, the candidate will need to be an agile dedicated learner to enable rapid transition to the latest toolsets and adoption of digital/model-based execution.

The successful candidate will have experience across the spectrum of systems engineering activities. The primary focus in this position will be requirements management relating to Mission System (MS) and Vehicle Systems (VS) content. To support development and definition; related tasking is anticipated to include performing risk assessments, leading trade studies, management of interfaces, performing technical planning, performing requirements verification and involvement in systems architecture development. Therefore, broad knowledge and expertise in systems engineering is needed. Additionally, the candidate needs to be experienced in providing support in systems/subsystem integration and test while working closely with program management to assure complete program integrity.

Further, the candidate will have experience as a technical leader and mentor/teacher to other engineers. As a technical leader, the selected candidate will need to be prepared to run portions of a larger effort with the ability to think creatively and execute independent of regular over-sight. A practical understanding of Earned Value Measurement Systems (EVMS) will be a significant plus to the candidate.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor or Above Technical Degree in a Technical Discipline
Must have a minimum final secret within last six years with ability to or in the process of obtaining a Top Secret SAR/SAP clearance
Experience in Vehicle Systems (VS) system design and development
Experience with requirements generation and decomposition
Experience using software tools (such as MS Excel and Access)
Experience with tracking requirements using the DOORS, CAMEO or similar database tool
Experience with systems engineering process
Desired Skills:
Ability to work with different engineering disciplines to derive and decompose requirements
Experience executing in a digital engineering environment (i.e., MBSE and digital twin)
Experience developing a system architecture
Good written and verbal communication with experience in writing requirements
Work experience with operational modeling tools
Previous integration and test experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 6 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $115,500 – $217,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
