Job Overview:
Seeking a highly skilled and influential UX Architect that demonstrates competencies in areas that include User Research, Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, Design Strategy and Facilitation. This role will represent the Experience Design team in defining a human centered and consistent user experience strategy across 40+ digital platforms Technology Services (TS) supports (Customer, Salesforce, SAP, TSS 2.0++ etc.). Clients will span the enterprise and include product owners, developers, enterprise project sponsors, and BNSF Business and TS leadership. You should be comfortable with ambiguous problem/opportunity spaces.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Using research, testing methods and the HCD framework, to help business leaders across corporate departments and field operations define and adopt critical technology,
• Lead high visibility innovation, strategy, and design sessions.
• Provide feedback on visual and creative elements of the process with the aim of making things as user-friendly as possible.
• Knowledge of mobile app development platforms (iOS and Android) and their design guidelines.
• Solid leadership, mentoring, and team development skills; humble attitude; high learning agility
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
• A passion for creating exceptional user experiences and have a flexible/creative approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
• Use quantitative data with qualitative feedback to assure that evidence based strategic design solutions meet customer goals.
• Proven ability to translate research findings and analytics into sitemaps, product maps, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Turn observations and research into actionable insights and products.
• Maintain design systems and style guides
• Partner with the User Experience team to deliver strategic, innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize user needs, business goals, and technological realities across desktop, web & mobile platforms.
• Have executive presence and can speak to end user needs, engagement details and is an effective collaborator inside and out of TS.
• Manages multiple in-flight initiatives across the enterprise.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with preference in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business, and/or equivalent formal training, certifications, or work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in an Information Technology environment.
• 10-15+ years in Experience in Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, Design Strategy, User Research or other human-centered/user-centered design competencies
• Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or Architect
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar
• Experience with usability testing and user research.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
• Authorized to work in the US without Company sponsorship now AND in the future
• Able to work out of the Fort Worth office (with potential of being 50% remote) and will relocate to the Dallas-Fort Worth area within 30 days of hire.
