Sr. Enterprise System Analyst – FT / Long Beach

System Analyst Sr. provide specialized application/system expertise and assistance in the analysis, design, deployment, and support of critical business functions within MemorialCare’s information technology systems portfolio. Individuals work closely with both external and internal customers, department colleagues, system vendors, and other stakeholders to define user requirements and provide integrated solutions based upon MemorialCare’s standard, and occasionally customized, computer/systems architecture and applications. They apply their expertise to improve business processes and support critical business strategies, as they seek out opportunities to educate customers in the strategic use of MemorialCare’s information technology and applications portfolio. Incumbents in this position work under general supervision from senior IT specialists and management however are able to plan, conduct and may supervise assignments of junior staff as well as train lower level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work. Recommends changes in procedures. Operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Reviews progress with management.

Essential Job Functions

  • Installing and conducting unit tests, component integration tests, systems and acceptance testing, correcting problems, and implementing changes to ensure adherence to test plan and functional requirements. Testing applications and interfaces with any existing target/ancillary systems.
  • Providing education to the customer in both the business workflow processes and the specific functions within systems used. Preparing, distributing, and conducting training and/or providing input to written documentation for technical methods, procedures, functions, or processes to support the installation, operations, training, and lifecycle of information technology solutions.
  • Diagnosing, isolating, and implementing remedies for system failures caused by errors in application code. Managing information technology infrastructure to ensure availability, performance, and scheduling services are kept at the highest possible levels commensurate with the desired services.
  • Maintain regular user contact, attend relevant meetings, and actively participate in organizational activities related to systems acquisition and use, and function as an important contact for Information Services to ensure communication, collaboration, and teamwork. Identify and resolve problems and issues that arise in and outside of the department.
  • Helps to ensure that all systems and applications are compatible and consistent with the installed base of information systems and in compliance with established architectural and technical standards. Helps to identify and recommends new and improved use of computer applications to enhance current processes, achieve cost advantages, and/or improve customer service.
  • May participate in training end users in the appropriate function of related systems and applications.
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required to react quickly and positively to new or emergent situations. Accept “On-Call” weekly rotational assignment for after hours, weekends and holidays. Document “Call” with appropriate Payroll code in time-keeping system.
  • Complies with all IS Policies, Procedures and Standards including: Project Management tools/methodologies, Network/Systems/Workstation Security, HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations associated with Electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $36.88 – $53.47

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

Experience

  • Overall knowledge of the healthcare business environment, specifically related to assigned support areas/application functions.
  • Entry-level experience as administrative/systems analyst or equivalent business experience. One year of significant and successful IT involvement desired.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • General knowledge of business systems, PCs, collaborative computing tools, information management in healthcare, general information architectures, systems integration, laws, and regulations.
  • Relevant experience, training and/or certification as is appropriate to MemorialCare’s specific business applications/systems, i.e. Epic, Keane, etc.
  • Some exposure to policy/procedure and process improvement techniques.

Education

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Business, and/or licensed healthcare professional preferred.
