This role is critical to the successful achievement of the mission. The associate accountant will assist Group Benefit Solution (GBS) with its monthly and yearly close processes and with US statutory reporting for multiple legal entities.
This role can be based in our Philadelphia or Bethlehem, PA offices.
Major Duties:
- Prepare journal entries in support of monthly close
- Reconcile balance sheet working accounts daily, investigate fall-out, and seek resolution of variances.
- Prepare and/or review monthly balance sheet working account reconciliations.
- Establish and maintain communication with the Treasury team and the Revenue Management teams to ensure cash is posting to the correct suspense accounts.
- Initiate payments to settle intercompany balances and pay third parties.
- Maintain documentation of internal control processes in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Support recurring internal and external audits
Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 3 or more years of Accounting/Finance experience: public accounting or insurance related experience a plus, but not required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-task environment with tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Motivated, proactive self-starter.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- SAP knowledge experience preferred; but not required.
Salary range: $72,500-$107,500
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
