Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. II Developer.

In this role, the successful senior software engineer will assist in the development of mission critical custom software products. The position offers the opportunity to work on site i(Hybrid) n a world class medical institution on a high-profile web property in the heart of Manhattan.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Writes source code in standard languages to develop features requested by product owner.
    • Writes unit tests and other test automation scripts
    • Instruments code for monitoring in Graphana dashboards and log analysis
    • Commits source code to GIT version control
    • Performs code deployments
    • Participates in daily team scrum process
    • Provides off hours Level 2 Support in an on-call rotation
    • Mentors junior developers in best practices for code development
    • Develops run books and other documentation to assist in operational support
    • Troubleshooting technical issues

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a BS or MS in engineering or computer science related discipline or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience building custom software solutions with expertise in ReactJS, JavaScript, CSS
5+ years of experience building custom software solutions using modern, object-oriented programming and/or scripting languages (Python, PHP)
3+ years of experience building custom software solutions using MVC frameworks (Flask, Symfony)
3+ years of experience integrating with and building RESTful APIs
Working knowledge of test automation practices including unit testing, contract testing and synthetic UI testing.
Working knowledge of web technologies including HTTP 2, TLS encryption, caching, web browsers, cookies, HTTP headers, HTML and JavaScript.
Working knowledge of web security including various authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, SAML).
Working knowledge of the Unix operating system (Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS, Ubuntu).
Working knowledge of Git version control including using branches, code reviews, tags, etc.
Knowledge of agile scrum methodology and experience working on a scrum team.
Experience with using DevOps tools for software deployment and configuration management (e.g., Jenkins, Docker)

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science, knowledge of cloud and devops technologies

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $63,935.04 – $93,600.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
