Position responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to deliver optimum Data Quality (DQ) process leveraging DQ tool(s)
  • Manage, design and implement suitable DQ controls based on types of data movement through Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) platform(s)
  • Manage, design and implement suitable DQ controls based on the importance of data elements i.e. Tier 1 (Critical Data Element (CDE)s), Tier 2 (material data elements) and Tier 3 (Non material data elements)
  • Prioritize team’s work based on DQ policies/procedures and requirements from business stakeholders
  • Manage Data Quality programs for large, complex data projects
  • Develop training materials, documentation and visual cues and provide data quality training and presentations to the cross departmental teams/ stakeholders
  • Edit and approve data quality performance indicators
  • Oversee DQ issue tracking, root cause analysis, remediation and escalation as appropriate
  • Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years managerial, supervisory, and/or work leadership experience
  • Experience in physical data modeling
  • Experience in one or more database technologies
  • Expert in Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Proficiency in data analysis
  • Experience with implementing and measuring Data Quality and Controls

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between$ 121k depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
