Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Senior Manger for ASIC Technical Program Manager will play a pivotal role in defining Kuiper ASIC products that will meet customer needs in the various segments. The right candidate must have demonstrated experience with advanced ASIC and software product development within consumer, commercial or telecommunications domains.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Coordinate with hardware and software engineering teams to develop product strategy and features for ASICs that will meet cost, performance, reliability and customer experience needs
Generate white papers to communicate project status, risks, and issues to leadership and cross functional teams.
Project management of overall development process including communicating goals, roles, responsibilities and desired outcomes to cross-functional project teams
Drive milestone readiness with the cross-functional teams.
Navigate through ambiguity and managing project delivery in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Collaborate with stake holders to define business and product requirements for long term product roadmap

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Manage a team of Technical Program Managers. Responsible for the ASIC TPM team development and growth.
• Collaborate with development and supply chain leadership to identify third party partners.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders (SOC / ASIC leads) to create project execution plans for ASIC/FPGA development considering all criteria to design products the meet the power/performance and functional specs for all use conditions.
• Drive best Program Management practices for the team and organization at large.
• In collaboration with the engineer and supply chain, take ownership of the periodic business review process to the Kuiper leadership.
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
• Work with product/program management leads to ensure that the ASIC development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
• Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, firmware, packaging and PCB teams on ensuring cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked.
• Work with external IP and silicon vendors and partners to complete the execution of projects in time.

A day in the life
In addition to creating project plans and executing against those plans, this role communicates with clarity on the development status, risk/problem statements, and the teams’ recommendations on the next steps. This role leverages industry knowledge and exercises good engineering judgement The role is responsible for the ASIC TPM team’s development and growth.
About the team
In this role, you will collaborate with various teams (e.g. antenna, FW, ASIC, test, EE, supply chain etc.) to develop program plans and execute against the plans to ensure that the ASICs meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Because Kuiper is inventing new technologies for our customers, we understand that working through ambiguity is a part of our work days. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree in EE/CSE, or related field, or equivalent experience.
– 3+ years managing a team of Technical Program Managers.
– 7+ years of Technical Program Management experience leading cross functional programs with aggressive schedules
– 8+ years of ASIC/SOC design and/or management experience
– 5+ years of project/program management and experience with schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Jira.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Master’s degree in EE/CSE.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills.
– Track record of successfully delivering complete systems (hardware, firmware, software, algorithms) on time, to scope, with high quality.
– Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
– Maturity, judgment, and proven ability to lead and influence others.
– Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.
– Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers, business owners, and senior business leaders.
– High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
– Experience developing ASICs for aerospace applications or systems operating in extreme environments
– Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
– Track record for being detail-oriented

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $155,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market.
