Job Functions and Essential Responsibilities:

With the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), the General Counsel (GC), Finance, Legal, Internal Audit, and other appropriate Company functions, the SMCE will:

  • Design, implement, measure/assess and document an “effective” ethics and compliance program that is proactive, risk-based and otherwise designed to prevent and detect criminal or other unlawful conduct (with the exercise of due diligence) and otherwise assure conformance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines regarding ethics and compliance.
  • Promote a company culture that while performance and results-oriented, encourages and insists upon ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with all laws – i.e., a Speak-Up Culture of High Performance with High Integrity.
  • Lead, systematize and maintain updated the company’s compliance programs including, but not limited to: Anti-Corruption and Bribery (FCPA and relevant country codes); Data Privacy, Antitrust, Scope of Authority; Code of Conduct; Donations; Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement compliance; Gifts & Entertainment.
  • Draft, implement and update company’s corporate policies as needed and maintain an updated company policy management system in place.
  • Coordinate and work closely with Internal Audit in relation to internal and external compliance and internal control related audits.
  • Develop and implement annually the global mandatory compliance trainings plan for the company; identify trainings needs based on the risk assessment; maintain a consistent, global approach for compliance trainings, automation, and monitoring of adherence to Finance and Legal compliance programs.
  • Drive compliance related communication globally in order to promote global awareness of the company’s compliance culture, inform about new compliance policies, initiatives, processes, and related requirements.
  • Partner with Internal Audit regarding the coordination of the company’s ethics hotline and follow-up investigations; Incorporate learnings and results into compliance initiatives.
  • In consultation with Internal Audit, provide periodic reports and assessments regarding the results, effectiveness and any resource needs of the company’s compliance program to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Establish and oversee an appropriate company-wide records retention program.

Education/Experience:

  • BS/BA degree and minimum 8 years of qualified experience working in a compliance and ethics team in-house in a dynamic international business environment. Preferable experience with one of the Big 4 and Compliance and/or Ethics Professional Certification.
  • Strong process and system experience and preferred USGAAP accounting and financial process experience.
  • Proficient on MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and etc.

    • Work independently on issues of broad scope and complexity where analysis of situation is highly complicated and requires evaluation of intangibles.

    • Possesses ability to successfully manage multiple large, complex projects or programs at the same time, and to close projects on time.
    • Demonstrate project/program management skills in leading cross-functional teams.
    • Create a work environment which encourages trust, process ownership, engagement in the business, and accountability.
  • Interaction:
    • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees as well as the leadership team and the board of directors.
    • Develop a solid network cross-functionally.
    • Excellent communication skills

Reporting Relationships:

  • This position will report to the Chief Compliance Officer

Travel:

  • Limited travel between 10-20%

Estimated Annual Salary Range:

  • $123,500 – 175,000/annually
