Sr. Manager, Travel Trade, Western Region

Are you passionate about leveraging your deep relationships and sales skills to collaboratively connect our luxury member hotels to premiere travel agencies? As Sr. Manager, Travel Trade, Western Region, you will join the Global Sales team, reporting to the Director, Travel Trade, North America. This position is responsible for strategic account management of key luxury leisure agencies in the Western region of North America on behalf of our member hotels globally.

The ideal candidate will be a self-disciplined, dynamic, pro-active, creative, positive-minded, and highly self-structured sales professional and people manager with strong strategy and execution skills. This individual will be able to develop and strengthen client relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority, as well as initiate and take ownership of projects. Through strategic planning and collaboration with colleagues and hoteliers alike, this individual will optimize revenue from the region to Leading’s portfolio of over 400 independent luxury hotels worldwide. Demonstrating a commitment to excellence in meeting the company’s objectives is key, as is a proven track record of strategic planning and implementation leading to successful outcomes.

This is a full-time position located in Los Angeles. We offer flexible workplace policies that can accommodate work-from-home candidates who are comfortable traveling to our LA office location two days a week.

Essential Functional/Regional Responsibilities

  • Strategic key account management and new business development in the Western region of North America
  • Achieves and ideally exceeds assigned managed account revenue budget through a solid sales strategy involving strategic key-account management, new business development, project management, and a dynamic collaboration program with member hotels to drive revenue to member hotels
  • Executes account development plans to ensure objectives, strategies, and activities are aligned with the business needs
  • Assesses and reacts to market trends, market share, and the competitive hotel environment
  • Strategically plans and executes frequent regional Sales Missions, Roadshows, and Events for clusters of hotels, aimed at optimizing revenue for member hotels attending and elevating the LHW brand
  • Participates in relevant industry events and tradeshows where necessary
  • Maps out home-based travel advisors by managed account and identifies top-travel advisors for the top-travel destinations from North America
  • Takes ownership of strategic projects where required, outlining objectives, strategies, and activities, while monitoring ROI
  • Collaborates with Group and Corporate teams when opportunities arise to cross-sell in those segments
  • Manages effective and constant CRM (Sales Cloud) usage to ensure sales effectiveness and delivery according to company standards and leads team members to ensure the usage of the tool
  • Develops initiatives that deliver and go beyond set revenue targets to selected member hotels as part of our collaborative approach to business
  • Enhances the level of awareness and preference of the company in the region and maintains the necessary personal contact and relationships with identified major key accounts, hotel members, and others
  • Develops new account business opportunities and contacts in assigned territories that will drive revenues to member hotels
  • Educates member hotels on the travel trade segment and provide consulting on how to grow revenue from this segment
  • Works collaboratively with regional offices to ensure strategic and procedural alignment
  • Manages the given expense budget for the market

Requirements, Experience and Qualifications

The ideal incumbent will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, marketing, sales management, or similar
  • 5+ years of sales/hospitality experience. Ideal background is a sales role for a luxury hotel brand – either on-property, regional, or global.
  • Western Region market knowledge and relationships
  • Experience working with sales, marketing and distribution technology, and CRM
  • Well-connected and networked in the hospitality and travel industry
  • Ability to travel to accounts within the territory, as well as to attend necessary industry events

Compensation

Expected Salary: $95,000 – $105,000

Target Incentive bonus: 25%

Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, and location.
