Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a PMO Lead, who is innovative, highly motivated, and has experience leading, building and developing a successful PMO program. You will join our team supporting the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a leading federal healthcare organization focused on scientific research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic and allergic diseases.
On this program, GDIT has a team of 80+ IT professionals developing and implementing new solutions, as well as maintaining NIAID’s IT infrastructure. You will work with our team of Systems, Network, Cloud and DevOps Engineers, as part of NIAID’s Applications Hosting team in the Operations and Engineering Branch, responsible for the organization’s infrastructure.
In this role supporting the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), you will lead a team and support the development of a newly created PMO department created to help transform our organization and contributing to shape the strategic vision and priorities of the organization.

** PLEASE NOTE: This role is primarily remote; however, you must be within commuting distance in the Rockville, MD for occasional meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Run a Program Management Office for NIAID’s Operation and Engineering Branch
- Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects
- Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables
- Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company’s standards
- Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes; and
- Write and edit technical documentation, project management plans, reports, and SOPs
- Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines
- Review, understand, and estimate assignments, and promptly communicate any issues/concerns
- Monitor workload to ensure that projections are on-target based on workload priorities
- Ensure all deliverables are completed, reviewed, and submitted by due date
- Identify and manage risks and develop mitigation plans
- Perform monthly EVM reporting and assist Program Manager with financials
- Tracking deliverables and performing quality control activities in accordance with a corporate quality assurance management program
- Report metrics to meet program SLAs
- Present project status updates to management and customer leadership
- Maintain team compliance of all contractual compliance requirements (e.g., trainings)
- Manage a team of 2+ employees to include hiring, performance management, and career development
- Collaborate with other cross-functional teams such as finance, procurement, project management, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors and 5+ years of experience or equivalent education/work experience
- Experience improving PMO processes, determining best practices, and/or building a successful PMO organization from the ground up
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Proficiency in MS Office suite; must be proficient in MS Project
- Familiarity with Agile methodology
- Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
Desired Skills:
- Experience leading and managing a PMO team strongly preferred
- PMP Certification
- Experience with SC360, Slack, and BPM
- Experience with JIRA and Confluence

The likely salary range for this position is $140,000 – $210,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
