Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Sr. Principle Field Applications Engineer to join our Security Sales team in San Jose, CA. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.
As a Sr. Principal Field Applications Engineer, the candidate will be reporting to Sr. Director of Field Applications Engineering in a Full-Time position.
We’re Keeping the Hackers at Bay
As more and more devices are connected to the web the number of entry points for an attacker to gain access to networks has grown exponentially with the larger attack surface. This has put semiconductor vendors, device OEMs, and solution providers in a difficult position managing a wide array of hardware components with buggy applications and operating systems.
Rambus platform security solutions ensure endpoint devices operate as intended by ensuring proper system software and hardware execution during normal operation and under duress. Responsibilities
Be the technical guru in the US evangelizing security by understanding customer functional requirements, use cases, and threat models to architect security solutions leveraging Rambus Security IP products. On-site and remote customer visits are essential to build strong relationships, present security materials, and to demonstrate our capabilities. You will also work closely with product management and business development to bring field intelligence back to the engineering team to influence product road-maps and marketing strategies.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. (MS preferred)
- Knowledge of Security IP a major plus
- 10+ years of chip/architecture experience
- Experience with supporting discrete semiconductor devices and/or hardware-IP
- Familiar with ASIC and FPGA architectures (Verilog or VHDL)
- Familiar with EDA tools and methodologies (Synopsys, Cadence, etc.)
- Ability to write prototype code using C, C++, Python
- Willing and able to travel to customer sites (~20%)
- Experience operating in a global organization

Rambus offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, equity, matching 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, comprehensive medical and dental benefits, time-off program, and gym membership.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,080 to $256,480. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
