We’re looking for a Sr. Procurement Specialist to help execute and lead the day-to-day procurement activities. This role will also have significant contributions to the creation and implementation of procurement policies and best practices, including the procurement vision and strategy, to aid and improve operational performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete purchase requests by verifying specifications needed and placing purchase orders with vendors, including purchase order changes
  • Assist with development and coordination of new policies and procedures regarding purchase order management to align with best practice
  • Identify process improvements within the procurement workflow and document as well as execute for standardization
  • Participate in developing requirements and be involved in the automation/test of purchasing ERP software or other business systems
  • Assist in developing training material and provide procurement training on new or updated processes
  • Review reports for potential issues to pro-actively identify resolution and implement solutions
  • Negotiate delivery dates, and conditions for the procurement of required materials from merchandise suppliers
  • Recommend strategies to improve supply chain, solve shortage issues and strengthen supplier relationships
  • Assist with development of vendor requirement strategies
  • Provide first level day-to-day support to Procurement Coordinators and other team members as required
  • Special projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years direct procurement and sourcing experience, preferably within the consumer product industry
  • Must have a deep understanding of procurement/purchasing standards and best practices
  • Ability to execute purchase requests using manual processes; experience with automation or implementing automation is a plus but not required
  • Highly organized and able to work independently with little direction
  • Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to react to production changes and/or supplier delays quickly and accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) – Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas required

Salary Information

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $65,600 – $82,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
This position is based in Everett, Washington.
