Job Summary
Provides leadership and program management for initiatives targeting the improvement of the complete product lifecycle from New Product Introduction (NPI) to End-of-Availability and End-of-Service. The initiatives are targeted improvements in the cost, cycle time, quality and customer experience related to hardware and software products introduced by NetApp. Process change proposals can involve the analysis, selection and modification of enterprise information technology and system functions.
This role is focused on the operational processes and systems supporting the New Product Introduction (NPI) process as well as the creation and maintenance of the Installed Base / Fixed Asset data. The span of processes includes the maintenance of the product data through New Item Requests (NIRs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering / Commercial Change Orders. This includes customer communications such as Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and notifications regarding the end-of-availability / end-of-service of NetApp products. This also includes management of the product data supporting Product Cost Management (PCM) and Supply Chain Risk Mitigation (SCRM) initiatives. The objective is to enable world class / best practice processes while maximizing the return on our IT investment.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads process improvement initiatives through the disciplined use of measurements, accountability, analysis, and discussion of process alternatives in order to arrive at best practices.
- Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts in process improvement, data capture and analysis, infrastructure support, tool ownership and compliance with procedures, etc.
- Plans, performs, and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma). Diagrams and evaluates existing current-state processes.
- Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. Collects data to identify root cause of problems.
- Measures performance against process requirements. Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls. Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
- May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement, and control. Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes.
- Leads cross-functional teams including supply chain partner representatives, in the development of future-state process requirements.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and IT to develop the business case for initiating the process change.
- Advises business groups by providing strategic direction to initiative prioritization, integration, and resource application. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision.
- Manage project schedules, identify risks, and change management / communication activity with project stakeholders from kick-off to completion to ensure realization of the project value proposition.
- Travel will be required to occasionally coordinate with global teams.
Job Requirements
- Strong Change Management / Leadership capabilities to transform processes and systems to enable best practice capabilities.
- Experience with configurable high-tech electronics such as computer systems, networking, telecommunications equipment and/or storage systems.
- First-hand experience with the challenges of New Product Introduction (NPI) into high-tech markets.
- The candidate should possess a strong knowledge of item, document, Approved Manufacture Listing (AML), Model / Option Class configure-to-order BOM, Planning BOM, standard / manufacturing BOM and Phantom BOM data structures.
- The candidate should possess a strong knowledge of the change control process and process to synchronize product data across supply chain partners such as Contract Manufacturers.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as the Oracle Agile or Oracle Product Development/Hub applications are required.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analysis, communication and presentation skills leveraging Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.
- Experience with the planning and implementation of process improvement initiatives. Lean or Six Sigma experience desired.
- CM2 / Professional Configuration Management Certification, a plus
Education
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is [$111,350] – [$152,218]. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law.
