What You Will Be Doing
You will focus on two major aspects of the job. One is the business management of your product, and other is product lifecycle management. This position has global responsibility.
• You will be engaged in selecting, validating, and managing Edge Hardware (HW) products required for multiple data analytics solutions.
• You will identify new markets, new products, emerging technologies, and build/strengthen partnerships with leading IoT product providers in the market to enhance Hitachi Vantara’s data analytics product portfolio.
• Provide thought leadership on the best ways to validate and route storage, networking and analytics products to market that add value, showcase Hitachi differentiators and drive consumption of Hitachi hardware and software infrastructure offerings in targeted customer and market segments.
• Define requirements for the software that enable Hitachi Vantara’s edge computing solutions and interact with marketing group to enhance and optimize Hitachi Vantara offerings for the edge.
• Reporting, analysis and forecasting of key business and financial metrics and building business plans will support you in achieving and exceeding the targets.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of the assigned product(s) and solutions. These may include edge and IoT products.
• Collaborate in all Go-to-Market (GTM) activities for new products, upgrades, and coordinate with a cross-functional team toward successful product launch.
• Cooperate with Product Marketing, Sales and Support teams to influence various sales enablement tools and support readiness.
• Communicate with customers and partners to understand, document and align the business and technical objectives of key solutions. One key deliverable will be the development and delivery of a formal roadmap for HW edge product portfolio for data analytics solutions.
What You Will Need
• 5 – 8 years experience, with at least 2 years in Product Management or Systems Engineering in an IT company.
• IoT and/or Edge AI applications including applications deployed on systems outside traditional data center environments.
• Experience bringing edge HW products to market including homologation and certification requirements.
• Experience working with UL, FCC, and carriers (CB Reports, PTCRB testing, etc.)
• Experience working with CCTV systems including Milestone, Genetec, OnSSI, IPConfigure, etc. and working knowledge of video analytics solutions.
• Experience in network design, especially for IP networks and SAN.
• Experience working with development teams who build software products for edge applications
• Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Master’s degree in EE/CE/CS or MBA a plus.
Additional skills to put in practice and sharpen
• Deep understanding of network technologies including L2/L3 protocols
• Deep technical understanding of distributed edge computing systems.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies including those from VMware and Microsoft
• Understanding of storage technologies including NAS, SAN, RAID, FC, iSCSI
• Basic understanding of cloud technologies including Azure and AWS infrastructure configuration.
• Basic understanding of cellular and different wireless technologies including mesh, P2P, Wi-Fi, etc.
• Experience in market data research, competitive comparison, and analytics to determine product positioning.
• Ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong analytic and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present to customers, industry analysts and executive team.
• Ability to travel about 25%
As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is:
Tier Two Location (including Colorado, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego): $124k – $177k
Tier Three Location (including the rest of Washington State): $99k – $142k
The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara’s bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
