The Amazon Science Community and Marketing (SciComm) team’s mission is to make Amazon the best place in the world to do customer-obsessed science. We are responsible for several Amazon-wide products and programs that encourage scientific excellence, foster internal connectivity with Amazon’s science community, and drive external connectivity with scientists working in both academia and the industry at large. We’re looking for a Senior PMT to join this team and build industry-leading tools to achieve these ambitious goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for owning the Scientific Publication (SciPub) product for the Amazon science community, with a focus on automation and tooling. SciPub addresses the needs of the Amazon scientist community by making it easy to write and publish research papers. You will own the full stack of SciPub tools, including workflow automation and collaborative editing software.
The right candidate will be versatile, able to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. You are comfortable managing competing priorities, and are able to bring order to ambiguous scenarios. Maturity, impeccable judgment, and the ability to influence and lead are essential to succeed in this role. You are data-driven and analytical. You can clearly and effectively communicate (written, as well as verbally) to teammates and stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
Write and deliver business requirement documents and artifacts required to enable the team’s development of products, features and infrastructure
Maintain and continuously prioritize backlog and roadmap based on data and customers’ needs
Write narratives to advocate for and justify product launches / changes
Plan and define the long term vision of your product areas of ownership
Build and improve a working relationship with your partners and stakeholders
Contribute to and develop the team’s processes/mechanisms
Regularly participate in stand-ups, design reviews and other meetings with engineers, and contribute to the discussion to ensure a high quality bar

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
– Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
– Experience with end to end product delivery
– Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
– Experience managing technical products or online services
– Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
– Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
