Sr. Program Manager, Amazon Today

Within Dex, the Amazon Today program team is building out a new innovative offering for businesses with a retail presence, to showcase their in-store inventory on Amazon’s storefront and enable same day delivery through Amazon’s last mile capabilities.

As a Sr. Program Manager on Amazon Today, you will be laser focused on the enabling brands to launch and scale on the program through their 1P/vendor relationship with Amazon, understanding their needs and requirements, plus anticipating future trends that will serve their needs. You will also be excellent at driving results, being able to coordinate large, multi-functional projects on-time, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. You manage cross-functional communication to ensure all business stakeholder’s needs are aligned. You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple teams at Amazon in different locations. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven’t been solved at scale before. You will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading medium to large products / projects / programs, and will have a well-rounded background in current e-commerce industry practices. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence and leadership are essential to success in this role. You constantly strive to expand our understanding of the metrics that drive our business and growth aspirations. Lastly, your communication skills – both verbal and written – are excellent, and you will be able to clearly communicate at all levels in the organization, including senior management.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage full life-cycle of complex cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations
  • Develop the overall program strategy, tactically driving teams in and outside of your organization to deliver
  • Partner with customers, internal/external teams, and engineering teams to determine what projects move forward and in what priority order
  • Work with other program managers, business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
  • Establish and mature mechanisms to scale
  • Develop program and team processes and tools as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • Master’s degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • 2+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
