The Senior Program Manager, Platform Syndication will be responsible for the successful onboarding of international partners to the Global Streaming Platform. Following the launch of Peacock in the US, SkyShowtime in Europe, and upcoming Showmax in sub-Saharan Africa, the Platform Syndication team acts as the primary interface to Global Streaming Platform partners, enabling setup and roll-out of platform capabilities that support new business ventures and strategically advances international expansion to over 75 territories.

A strategic thinker and pragmatic problem solver, the candidate will lead an onboarding team of Program and Project Managers specialized in functional syndication domains spanning Platform, Content, Experience, Partnerships, Data and MarTech, and Services. They will have a strong track record in technical program management and digital product or platform delivery. As a primary responsibility, the Senior Program Manager will establish and run onboarding program governance, manage an end-to-end partner onboarding plan, and lead the onboarding delivery team across relevant syndication domains. Success will require building key partner and stakeholder relationships for engagement, establishing robust delivery governance and integrated plans, and capably managing dependencies, risks, and issues to meet overall portfolio and departmental objectives. Also important is the willingness to embrace challenges, adapt to change, and showcase a hands-on approach continuously improving our technology delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

This position will report to the Director, International Technology Delivery, and will work in a highly matrixed structure, interfacing between Global Streaming Platform partners and stakeholders across NBCU, Sky, and the wider Comcast group. This position will also provide guidance to consulting project teams contributing towards a broader portfolio of strategic platform syndication initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary interface to syndication partners to plan, manage, and execute end-to-end Global Streaming Platform onboarding to support new business ventures and strategic objectives
  • Lead a team of Program and Project Managers to successfully certify a partner’s onboarding by functional syndication domain (Platform, Content, Experience, Partnerships, Data and MarTech, Services), serving as a first point of escalation for the team and key stakeholders
  • Create and maintain an end-to-end, integrated partner onboarding plan, working closely with syndication product, architecture, engineering and delivery leads to identify key milestones and prioritize critical path activities to de-risk delivery
  • Establish and enforce onboarding program governance between the syndication partner and the Global Streaming Platform team, ensuring change is controlled, dependencies are identified, risks and issues are mitigated and resolved
  • Fulfil regular onboarding reporting obligations of the portfolio, tailored to the syndication partner and cross-functionally to all levels of the organization
  • Build and manage strong partner relationships to enable solid understanding of platform capabilities, adoption of syndication ways of working, and timely resolution of partner specific dependencies
  • Develop and refine a standardized end-to-end partner onboarding process for the Global Streaming Platform, including definition of syndication partner acceptance criteria to measure platform onboarding success
  • Work closely with domain-specific onboarding leads to standardize and refine onboarding processes, and ensure integration into end-to-end Global Streaming Platform onboarding processes
  • Provide guidance and coaching to support the professional development and high performance of direct reports, working in a multi-disciplinary, globally distributed delivery environment across NBCU, Sky, and Comcast
  • Strive for continuous improvement in ways of working: identify, propose, and implement changes towards increased delivery efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

  • 8+ years program or project management experience in a telecommunications, media, or technology company managing large scale, complex programs of work
  • Self-starter, able to come up to speed quickly and contribute in a diverse set of technical areas, without requiring significant oversight and direction
  • Pro-active approach to delivery, identifying and neutralizing threats to success; positive approach to addressing conflict
  • Strategic and pragmatic with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor to all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrable experience designing, operationalizing and continuously improving business and technology operating procedures and processes
  • Calm under pressure, flexible to changing circumstances and able to make quick and rational decisions and maintain the focus of the team
  • Strong political acumen, able to tailor style and approach to influence teams and individuals to gain the commitment and performance required to deliver on our promises
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence partners, cross-functional teams from multiple internal departments, and external vendors, including those outside of direct purview
  • Good working understanding of media technology systems; able to have meaningful discussions with technology experts
  • Ability to take complex technology discussions and break them down for non-technical groups
  • Broad knowledge of program and project management and agile methodologies applied in diverse or hybrid working environments
  • Hands-on experience utilizing industry leading issue tracking and collaboration tools (e.g. Airtable, Smartsheets, Jira, Confluence, Slack)
  • Good understanding of the global media landscape, and technology’s influence
  • Strong character exhibiting company core values: Integrity, Creativity, Teamwork, Pioneering Spirit, and Ownership
  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level of equivalent, background in technology or engineering a significant plus; relevant project or program management qualification

Desired Characteristics:

  • Subject matter expertise within telecom, technology streaming or media technology, a considerable plus
  • Digital/OTT experience spanning international product and/or platform launches and go-to-market launch planning
  • Demonstrable experience delivering technology change within digital/OTT sector including AVOD, SVOD, TVOD and PVOD
  • Previous experience working with global delivery teams, a considerable plus
  • MS/BS/MBA strongly preferred
