An engineering firm in Mont Belvieu and Freeport, TX, and Destrehan, LA, is looking for a Sr. Project Controller to join their team. This individual will be responsible for cost, cost forecasting, cost analysis/control, and planning/scheduling activities for a Government project, or for discipline/project/proposal estimating or staff planning activities that require a high degree of technical skill and experience. They will be performing direct cost estimating, analysis, control activities, and schedule alignment, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development activities. They will direct the preparation and presentation of on-project cost forecasts, support project organizational and administrative activities, provide generally non-routine cost/planning and scheduling guidance, identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions to cost and planning/scheduling problems. They will be responsible for weekly progress and reporting, effective execution of the Project Controls program on an assigned project in accordance with the company, and Project Controls Department Procedures. They will be directing project control activities, executing policy, objectives, and standards applicable to cost and schedule control and analysis activities, and preparing the Project Controls plan for assigned projects. They will provide leadership in terms of integrating the risk management process with other key project procedures (e.g. Change Management, Forecasting, Cost, Trends, and Claims), and Construction Progress reporting.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in the chemical, refining, OR other industrial manufacturing industries
3-5 years of experience in project controls, scheduling OR cost engineering
3-5 years of experience in Primavera P6
3-5 years of experience in scheduling in a construction environment
Experience with cost estimating, forecasting, cost control, cost analysis, project control tracking, and scheduling
Advanced knowledge of cost accounting and engineering practices, Work Breakdown Structure creation and management
Expertise in Excel
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint
Strong communication skills and ability to confidently interact with management and clients
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Capital Projects in a chemical plant, refinery, oil and gas production, construction of major facilities, or government projects
