L3Harris is seeking a software engineering professional with Scrum Master experience to work as a Release Train Engineer in a DevOps and Agile environment. This person will perform software technical leadership facilitating program level process execution to drive continuous development, manage risks, dependencies, escalating impediments while acting as a Chief Scrum Master. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and requires a Secret Security Clearance.
Essential Functions:
- Advance the Agile Release Train (ART) by working with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile teams to increase velocity, remove impediments and optimize the execution of software and hardware value streams
- Provide agile coaching and mentoring at all levels within the organization to ensure on-time, and on-budget, quality delivery
- Work with several Integrated Product Teams, facilitating the preparation and execution of quarterly Program Increment planning, Scrum of Scrums, and System Demo’s
- Stand up and manage Agile Release Train(s) and their cross-functional teams
- Define, develop, and analyze execution related metrics for trends and indicators while managing risks across product teams and their corresponding processes
- Lead continuous improvement efforts within the ART
- Manage cross team dependencies, workflow, deliverables, releases, and milestones on all product team activities
- Collaborate with engineering teams and customer to identify problems, perform failure analysis to root cause, and develop solutions to correct deficiencies
- Understand and practice agility throughout the Product Life Cycle
- Coach and encourage continuous improvement and innovation in the platform and application development process
- Support the Product Owner’s vision, goals, scope, and product domain
- Adopt a positive attitude about Agile processes and facilitate the basics of the mindset and process (i.e. transparency)
- Support Agile transformation process including PI planning, templates, artifacts, training materials, and lessons learned
- Communicate effectively and work in a team environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Experience with Java, C++ or similar high level language
- Experience in developing software for Linux run-time environments, such as Red Hat Linux
- 2+ years of Agile release train experience; preferably within the Defense and Aerospace industries
- SAFe® RTE certification
- Scrum Master certification (CSM or PSM)
- Experience with Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Rally, Confluence, EazyBI, AIO etc.)
- Secret Security Clearance
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II, IAM Level II, or IASAE Level II or higher certification required – includes Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CISA, GCIH, GCED, CISSP, CASP, CAP, GSLC, CISM, or CSSLP or the ability to obtain within 60 days
Preferred/Desired Additional Skills:
- Experience implementing best Agile practices and standards, and mentoring/teaching junior practitioners.
- Direct, hands-on experience with leading a multi-team, multi-disciplinary Release Train that utilizes both Scrum and Kanban practices
- Experience with transitioning teams from Waterfall to Agile methods and practices
- Expert in the use of Atlassian suite of tools (ex. Jira, Confluence), including structuring data and reporting to identify trends for past and present performance to drive continuous improvement
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $87,000 – $162,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
